Thanks guys XD

very nice, I like the shading style and the line variation :)
I saw an artist on DeviantArt that does something similar to this shading style and wanted to try it out.

Update --

I don't have a lot of finished pieces this time around. Instead I've been working on putting down concepts for my story - character/environment designs and such.

Bit of a sketch dump but this is how I like to get things down.

Character Design - Dae
This is a character I've had around for a loooong time and decided to redesign her. She's Shira's older sister.

your concept sketches are really great.
I really like your sketchy style as well.
great character designs, and nice to see the notes and descriptions of stuff.
I wouldn't have thought a detection ability was a "defect" though, although I can't think of an alternative word XD

I'm digging the design of Dae there. It's all looking good (not particularly constructive or useful I know) :P

@suuper Haha, true. The 'defect' came after she got into an accident, so she considers it as something definitely not normal XD

@Robin ^^; By using the time I should've been using for academic studies, ehehe. (Lol, I hadn't realized that either xp)

@Vacant Thanks! I appreciate the comment ^^

@Gabryel Aw, thanks! I'll remember to post more in the future. c:

Update --

Realized I hadn't mentioned it here, but I'll tell you guys now. A few of you might know this already.
I've started drawing a little random comic series that I'm posting on Tapas!

Trash Head Talks - A slice of life story following a struggling writer and his misadventures.

Link to Comic: https://tapas.io/series/Trash-Head-Talks

It's an experimental project, as I want to get accustomed to drawing a character consistently in some sort of story setting. Would anyone be interested if I posted it here as well?

More sketches -

Sigh Lavallen: Aseloti Appearance
Note: The Aseloti are a race in the story that has catlike features and behaviours whicih show when they get excited. Sigh normally looks like a human girl with a shy and moody personality, but takes on a wild appearance when triggered: tufted ears, animal-like eyes, extended claws and teeth.

I am definitely more likely to read it on MR than on another site, because I am more used to how the forum looks. Also I can comment more freely here than getting another account somewhere else and all that.
that being said I read the first chapter and very cool. great idea with taking off the hat to throw something away.
and yes drawing a character consistently is a great skill to have. I'm working through that hurdle in my own way with fanart but a comic is equally good if not a better way to get in that skill. all the best for it! and I'll try and read the rest sometime!

cool idea with the Aseloti. reminds me a tad of Natsu in Fairy Tail, when he gets really angry/powerful his skin starts turning scaley.

@suuper Gotcha. And thanks! I'm finding it's a lot harder to keep a consistent schedule, even though I'm trying to post every two weeks. Part of the challenge I guess.

Yep! It's fun to see characters transform c:

Lately I've been just sketching/doodling. Not a lot of finished works.
Earlier this month I attempted a different style after looking at some art books. I need to get used to colouring more....It was fun to do and I rather like the result of it.
Feel free to give suggestions/feeback.

It looks good Echo! The shading/colouring on the hair is particularly well done. Overall there's not much I can offer in terms of feedback other than maybe the shading on the face isn't quite right. If I look at it for a while something about the placement of the shadows on the nose and left side (our left) of the face doesn't seem to quite add up. It feels more of a nit pick than anything glaringly wrong though, either way great work.
