Let's teach eachother!
« on: October 06, 2012, 10:38:15 PM »
Well, this idea just popped into my head, so I'm going to act on it.

The idea is to draw from a photo of the human figure(male or female). However, don't just copy the figure; analyze the figure.

The procedure for this continuous workshop, whom anyone can participate in:

  • Draw from the photo
  • Post the photo and the drawing to this thread
  • Educate us about what you drew, or tell us what you learned from what you have drawn.

Tell us about the proportions of the figure you drew from, some information you learned about how the muscles operate(if the figure is in movement), what kind of lighting was used, how the clothing intereacts with the body(if there is any), or just anything that you didn't notice before.

Tools for waging battle:
http://characterdesigns.com/index.php?sitepage=photosets
http://artists.pixelovely.com/practice-tools/figure-drawing/
(For pixel lovely make sure you choose the 'decent only' figures option)

Good luck everyone! I will start off on this soon, but you may be the first person to do the workshop if you wish.

You have just shown me..... the most amazing... websites in the world... *Might do this after the body workshop.*

I have a lot to learn and sometimes I feel like I'm slacking. I feel so empty when I don't draw, and full of fire if I do. I hope both feelings never go away.
