Light Novel idea

I have an idea for a story and I've decided to make it into a light novel.  I basically have all the parts to make the book, (characters, places, general story) but I'm having a bit of trouble with actually writing it.  I feel like I could get the ball rolling if I just knew how I should start it off.  Problem is I'm not sure how.  Its like I have everything in my head but can't get it to take off.  Any tips?

have you tryed making a plot. I mean like drawing it out using your highschool graph... (I like to use this cause it lets me SEE whats happening not that any of my plots have turned into stories  )

I can already tell you're making the classic mistake of over thinking the writing process. Listen you've got a general plot right? just find your beginning, then start. Don't think, just write.

Yeah, you've heard of NaNoWrimo, right? It really gives you an idea on the philosohpy of writing. Look, there is absolutely no way to write the story perfect in the first run. You will have to brush it up and refine it till it becomes something good.

My tip? Open Wordpad or a similar word-processer without any spell-check capabilities. Put a 10 minute stopwatch timer and begin. You can start from some scene in the middle, or the beginning.

In any case you have to just start. I'm also greatly intruiged by creating light novels but i fall into this problem quite a lot. Mostly though, my main problem is free time.

Try it out, see what happens.

Basically what these guys said. Dont worry though, everyone has their own flow when it comes to writing. You'll find yours eventually.

Don't think, just write.

I really like that philosophy for some reason. I have to try it.
