Steampunk Workshop
« on: December 09, 2011, 08:26:19 AM »
It's been a while since we had a new member workshop.
I always enjoyed them. The members interact together and reflect on the same topic.

anyhoo
This one's entitled  Steampunk!
Quoting wikipedia:

Quote
Steampunk involves a setting where steam power is still widely used—usually Victorian era Britain or "Wild West"-era United States—that incorporates elements of either science fiction or fantasy. Works of steampunk often feature anachronistic technology or futuristic innovations as Victorians may have envisioned them, based on a Victorian perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, art, etc. This technology includes such fictional machines as those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or the contemporary authors Philip Pullman and China Mieville.

So the object of this workshop is to draw a steampunk element.
It could be a weapon, an automobile, a house, a robot ....
For inspiration, you could check works such as Final Fantasy, Fullmetal Alchemist...
It's a really interesting exercise, especially that A LOT of fantasy themed works use steampunk.

I thought of getting out of human figures themes, since most workshops involve them.
It could be a fun thing :D
Let's get started!

I love Steampunk! I'm certainly in. When should we post? I need a deadline or else I'll totally let it go and forget about it.
