What mangas would you recommend me?

Long time I don't go to comicshop, and I wonder what's HOT now... If I had money to buy only one manga, which one would you recommend? and why?

Don't know what you're into, dude.
All I can do is list my favorites:

Family Compo (gender bender)
No Bra (gender bender)
Genshiken (slice of life)
Love Hina (harem)
Gantz (psych/thriller/mindjob)
Definitely the early volumes of Naruto! (action/martial arts/comedy)
I'm liking GTO at the moment. (comedy)

and Megatokyo for ameri-manga. It is teh awesome. (slice of life/comedy)

There is a lot of crap out there, too.
I think that chances are if you liked the anime you may like the manga.

Rurouni Kenshin ( action, historical, romance)

katekyo hitman reborn (action , comedy , shounen)

Bakuman, from the creators of death note and the best manga ever (in my opinion) its about 2 boys trying to become mangaka :)

hey there here :) dont know if its your thing but you can read most of the mangas online (not ethical but helps you find the ones youll really want to own) i can link you some of the most popular sights if you want.

anyway what genras are you into i like action and shojo/shounen the most, my all time favorites are

Psyren. Action, Sci-fi (awesomest ever!)
The Breaker. Action, martial arts,  shounen (really great fighting sene's)
The Breaker: New waves. Action, martial arts, shounen and romance (it continues the story of the main character)
Kaichou Wa Maid-sama!. Comedy, Drama, Romance, School Life, Shoujo

and these ones i relly like cus of the art
Barajou no kiss. Comedy. Harem, Mystery, Romance
S.L.H. Fantacy, Harem, Roamnce, Supernatural.
Moe Karen. Action, Comedy, Drama

maybe you'll like some of these :)

Some great ones I already know between those mentioned are Bakuman, Gantz, GTO.
I'll investigate Psyren, it's not the first time see it recommended.

hey guys im looking for a manga that has a harem theme to it i really enjoyed ninja girl so something kinda like that with action, comedy, a little romance and fantasy all rapped up into one.. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I would suggest Nightmare Inspector :) I love it I bought all of them <3 I would really suggest it. Its a mystery/horror kind of depressing too.
