Photographic Realism Using Photoshop
« on: March 05, 2008, 06:46:16 PM »
When I was in art school... many, many, many years ago :-), I mostly did realist art... what is known as 'photographic realism'

And for some reason, a few minutes ago, I started experimenting with photoshop... this is the result. It didn't turn out bad, I think. This is the first non-comic thing I've done in years.

I had some extra time, so I added a bit to it to at least make it an interesting composition :-) New pic replaces the old above

« Reply #4 on: March 08, 2008, 07:04:08 PM »
Here's the finished work. I couldn't leave it alone :-)

Everything done in Photoshop.

Also, some have asked to see a closeup of just the girl, so here she is (with missing eye :-)

Oh, I'm glad I baffled you :-)  Ask questions to become unbaffled :-)

Honestly, though, this stuff is so different from my comic art, almost everyone seems shocked that I can do it :-)  I *did* go to art school... once upon a time :-)

But, this stuff is actually easier than comic art if you know a few things about Photoshop... it's all about airbrush 'flow' and just layering and layering color.

Depends... art classes are art classes if you're doing drawing, life studies, composition, etc

Thanks. This was the first one I did.  I've done another one that's better, now, but it might be a bit too racy to post here. No nudity, but it is sexy.
