absolutely lovely. it's great to see the raiders in a more casual settings since they are always normaly in battles XD
I wouldnt be surprised if the pub was a mash of different styles to be honest, like different parts were built by different people, or it got damaged and rebuilt etc XD
If you mean just the panelling and getting stuff right then I understand you on the stress front.
My first manga will most likely avoid backgrounds to a huge degree, and only draw charctaers from the waist up permanently. Very much like Minami-ke, which is pretty much my idea of how my first manga should look.
As for brush use, I think, as with many things, that either will probably work, if you give it enough time to learn how to make it work. Sorry for the cryptic answer, but that's pretty much why there are so many artists styles out there. It's probably a good idea to give each brush a good turn of maybe several pages or illustrations each, to make a decision based on more experience.
