Walter's Animations
« on: July 05, 2023, 11:40:38 PM »
Hi guys, this is a thread for my animations.

This is my latest one. What if Vegeta was in Attack on Titan?:

How do I embed the video so it appears here? Thanks

Hey Walter! long time no see!!!!
hope you've been keeping well.

Nice youtube channel! I like the speedpaints you've done, looks like your art quality has improved tremendously!!

Hmmmm there used to be a way to embed, let me check what I used to use.
Ahhhh right, chrome doesn't support it anymore so I can't test it, but it should work with this code:

Code: [Select]
[flash=700,500]https://youtu.be/KH5X4opCm5A[/flash]

If your browser supports flash then it should load in the spoiler here.
(Actually, didn't flash support end for everything years ago?)

<a href="https://youtu.be/KH5X4opCm5A" target="_blank" class="new_win">https://youtu.be/KH5X4opCm5A</a>

A backup way to embed is simply post a thumbnail image of the video which links to youtube, it's not great but it's nicer than a text link I think.

And wow that animation is really good! I know how much effort it takes to do stuff like that so serious props to you, and definitely keep it up, you've definitely got a knack for it I think.
Some of those frames were packed with detail, and the whole thing being coloured must have taken a while! And the art quality is super good, all the characters were immediately recognizable and well drawn.
Good use of simple techniques such as the panning of a still image to create the illusion of movement etc.
Cool to have sounds effects and voices as well, it really made the whole thing coherent.
definitely post more!

Flash is no longer supported, but the thumbnail thing is a good idea ;) Thanks

Well, most of the art is traced to be honest. I have seen other channels do the same. It is easy but it limits what you can do.

Thanks for the nice feedback! Hope to post more animations in the future  :D

Ah right, tracing would certainly speed up some of the process but indeed very limiting. And you've also got copyright issues to face as well if you don't give all the credits where due.

Hopefully we'll see you around soon :D

Oh yeah, as long as you're not making money off it or claiming it as 100% your own work then you're probably fine :D

Japan's copyright laws are a bit more lenient from what I hear, you can make a fair bit of money off someone else's characters without needing permission or permits, whatever they call them. That's one of the reasons why there is so much content and fan works if I'm not mistaken.
