the drafting program sounds cool, I'm coding my own art program as well actually, to make some of my workflow more efficient but it wont give me such massive gains :P But then again I've nearly maxed out my speed gauge XD

2.5 minutes per page draft sounds very fast indeed, while being fast isn't a bad thing make sure you're not going so fast you're missing quality or details ahahaha XD
although I assume you just mean the basic layout sketch?

The basic idea is to split the page in panels and pose skeletons in each panel to help me keep the proportions. Once this basic layout is done i ink the page adding all the missing details like hair, eyes, clothing, backgrounds and effects. Its really basic at this point but helps a lot at speeding 97% of the drafting work.

Something i've just realized is that drawing is quite like playing piano. You cant get good or faster without an hour or two of daily practice. I did a week long pause in my daily trainings since finished the first volume of infernity and the quality dropped when retaking the drawing board.

So im making this a comitment with myself to draw at least 2 hours daily even if i have to push myself a bit. I will keep these daily practices on this gallery and the sketch survival topic for a record on how my art changes day to day.

Also a familiar is coming from the states this or the next month. She asked me if i wanted something in particular and i told her, Well, bring me a taste of parmesan cheese and a 60$ Wacom Intuos tablet. She just said, Uhm... Ok.

Will update tomorrow with some digital pieces of Mana in a swimsuit ;)

BOOM.

A blackout.

I have been drawing a few pages (traditional, on paper) and my conclusion is i have to quit drawing with that sketching program. This should be common sense for anyone but: if youre not doing the base of your artwork youre not really improving at all.

I will eventually get a tablet and go digital, we will see how the switching of working paradigms ultimately affects the workflow and results.

Now its time to work a lot in the fundamentals, time spent in the fundamentals is never time bad spent (burn that line in your forehead). I have speed as a primary goal so im willing to make some trades, but not if that is hurting my skillset from the very base.

Cheers.

Dahaha!

Finally, my tablet is over here. Made this with my new tool:

Will be posting daily new artworks starting tomorrow, continuing with the plan of practicing at least two hours a day until i get working on a series.
