@lego I think your comment is partly behind my initial question - that of lifetime output. I think I'd definitely like to churn out a ton of stuff rather than one supremely polished masterpiece. Although both are preferable to doing nothing as coryn says. But equally I dont want to produce nothing but super rough work so that's where the balance is required.

that video is 100% in line with my own workflows so I'm glad I'm on the right track. just throw the idea down and see what sticks. No point trying to second guess what will work without trying it.

Ah man I remember that legendary workflow, what did you churn out like 5 mangas simultaneously in the space of a month? Epic stuff. That should be its own workshop, and honestly people would pay money for that lel

yup I had 4 weekly serial mangas which I managed to release almost on deadline each week for 12 weeks. Only by lowering the quality was it possible to churn out so much but it was a good learning experience.
I'm still working on the next version of that workflow, not too sure what form or level of quality it'll take yet though.
