hell teacher nube I'm pretty sure uses traditional Japanese folklore for most of it's inspiration, most of the ghosts and monsters are types that appear in Japanese legends and myths.

not sure about JoJo but I know the artist was inspired by a lot of fashion for the poses and outfits.
