got in early today. still sniffly but normal enough to draw

day 24. mostly render practice. Since I don't use fineliner that much Inktober is making me realise I don't really know how to draw in pen very much.

Man you're even exploring textures and the like, and you really have some nice background slinging skills there suuper. Props.

Get well soon (assuming you're still down.) In other news I think I may have provoked a flu for myself.

Day 28
Spoiler

Drawn from the volume 1 cover for Black Cat, which was gifted to me by fellow raiders. I'm tempted to go tracing manga again to see if I can learn something from them.

nice manga style drawing. I thought the style seemed different to your normal stuff :P

thanks, yup still ill unfortunately. just coughing and sniffing. I can do normal drawing but the ink stuff requires effort which I still don't have. and get well soon yourself. winter is scary with flus and colds >_<

tracing does have some benefits. I sometimes trace over finished drawings to practice inking, without having to have a decent sketch to start with. it helps you realize what makes a good sketch for starters.

Haha yeah. Black cat has that 90s manga look that I really like for its own reasons too. Not quite what I want but close: The gals look kawaii, the men look tall and manly (in Black Cats' case its not quite there but yeah still the same era)

@Coryn and you can't believe how great a gift it was man. Black Cat anime is one of my favourites for sentimental and obvious reasons.

I'm just sad I couldn't find any more volumes of it. There was just the one sitting there.

Well I've never gotten a collection for any manga that I really want in my life. They're so damn expensive. Rest assured I'm really treasuring this one.

Day 30
Spoiler

Ans: Enough (that's supposed to be Lego snorting through his nose)

Time to put these 5 buck Naruto mega volumes to good use. Let's see... 1 year study to get through 33 chapters? Seems reasonable.

I fear a lot of my will to draw original stuff might dissapear with all this training and improvement drive, but I'm actually okay with having a goal at this point. I just want to get as good as I need to.
