Favorite Waifu Archetype
« on: May 30, 2018, 09:07:52 PM »
What are your favorite archetypes of female characters in anime?

I'm personally a sucker for the tomboy/female brawler type waifu. As soon as I see a chick with some finger-less combat gloves assuming a boxing stance, I'm hooked. I love a good silent and mysterious ninja girl as well.

I am absolutely enamored with the four Iron Ladies of anime: Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing, Cornelia li Britannia, General Olivier Mira Armstrong, and Balalaika. Little more needs to be said for my taste in women.

Although, wouldn't this kind of topic do better in, hrmhrm, (gestures to signature)?

Lmao, Fro one of the characters I just drew matches that description real well haha.

Balalaika, good taste  :clapping:

I'm a fan of kuuderes, though not all the time. I find it really cute when a waifu/husbando has to choose between their feelings or their duty. Though more realistically, I like them because they're often really strong and responsible.

I feel like I wouldn't really have to be afraid of anything if I have someone like Saber watching my back. Someone that loyal is really hard to come by and perhaps that is the appeal (because let's face it, she's almost loyal to a fault).

I mean, to be fair, Iron Ladies like those make up a good 65% of my taste, but there's a bizarre like 15% who are total brats. I don't understand why. I typically hate brats, but there are notable times where some characters have really dug their heels in and gotten under my skin. Examples of that variety include Re-L Mayer (Ergo Proxy), the entire Serket bloodline (Homestuck), and Franziska von Karma (Ace Attorney franchise). I honestly can't tell if I'd rather make out with them or punch them in the throat. Both seem like a rather satisfying turn of events. [[Edit: see also: Medusa Gorgon, Soul Eater.]]

The other 20% are pretty much completely random relatable characters, such as my current profile pic (Chikage, Sister Princess) or my profile pic over on EcchiWorld (Ruby Tojo, Rosario+Vampire).

Re-L Mayer yes, Medusa yes. They'd be the best waifus.

As for me, I'm a simple man. I see cat ears, I like. If she happens to be yandere, then I like even more.

See, I wouldn't call them waifus. As far as Soul Eater goes, like, Tsubaki is a waifu. Medusa is...wow can I even say this on MR without Hasith-sama giving me mad stank eye and head nodding in the direction of the children? We shall see.

Medusa is just a little b*tch that I will gladly strap down and put in her place. Her moral compass is all out of whack. I want to rub her face in the error of her ways and break her. And yet, I can't particularly say that it's all a violent emotion. She's absolutely bloody brilliant. So smart she out-manipulated Stein for a few hot minutes. I can't not respect that. In short, it may go completely against my usual, but something about her kicks in my inner dom. And here's the kicker--for me, it wouldn't have to be romantic or physical. She intrigues and repulses me.

In the case of Re-L and Franziska, it's a lot more toned down. I see their flaws and something in my gut kicks in with the instinct to simultaneously protect and...help isn't quite the right word...guide, maybe? I want them to be their best. They could do it on their own, I know that for certain, given time. There's just something that seems satisfying about being in a position and watching them unfurl. A lot of defrosting ice queens give that satisfaction.

During all my live i just had dealed with sado deeres o gosh i'm tired ;-;, but i just became used to them now (i guess). If i could choose the best ones i think would be the Tomboys too, i dont know why, but maybe its something related to my childhood. and there is also the trap ones (dont judge me(or judge me i dont care)), but i dont think they're worth as girls, or are they?

I like the awkward freak characters like Umi Sonoda, Dia Kurosawa and Shirashi from A Place Further Than The Universe, even Mio Akiyama and Kimi ni Todoke's Sawako to a degree. The kind of shy characters who are actually kind of freaks, in a good way. If that makes sense, it's a very specific type different from the average shy characters. Yohane also.

@Mahlua: Mira Armstrong was such a great character. Those lips of hers bugged me though. Also, Medusa irritated the crap out of me. Still a great antagonist regardless. Man I miss Soul Eater.

@devola: *Rushes to your art gallery immediately*

@Lego: Lego, you gotta expand those horizons man. Wolf girls are pretty cute too you know.

@Manimal: I kinda like those kind of characters too. They feel more realistic than the average shy anime girl whose one hundred percent a saint all of the time.

@Weak: Tomboys have a weird place in my heart. I'm automatically attracted to them for some reason. I tend to stay away from the traps though.

Also, waifus with glasses gets me every time. Mainly the teacher types are the ones I'm usually attracted to. Probably because I find older women more attractive I guess?

I too find older women attractive. It was I who once stated AND I QUOTE BECAUSE MY FRIENDS RECORDED IT IMMEDIATELY SO I COULD NEVER LIVE IT DOWN: "She may be twice my age but that only puts her at 36." (I was 18, obvs.)

I hope you aren't like, fetishizing my career though. That is literally one of only like THREE anti-kinks I have. Even thinking about thinking about teacher/student dynamic sexualized anything makes me nauseous.

Naw I wouldn’t do that. Funny thing is though, I actually had a chance to have somewhat of a sexual relation with a older women that was an employee of mine, but didn’t go through it since it kinda felt weird at the time. But that’s a story worth saving for EcchiWorld! ::)
