I wish I knew how to get that gray that manga tend to have, it has a sort of toned texture to it.

Interesting character, that's a scarf right? What's his name?

I think the lines could be a bit thinner, but interesting designs there.

His name's Sonny, and that is meant to be a scarf. I am trying to get the lines thinner, but for some reason, I can't find the right pressure for my pen to get those thin lines. Maybe I should just lower the pen size on my art software.

lowering the pen/brush size will probably help, you should be able to press normally and get thin lines, if they are too thick then the settings are wrong, not your pressure :P

I lowered my brush size by a few pixels and it's made quite a difference. Thanks for the advice.

I'm not sure where the appropriate location to post this is, so I'll just put it here for now. I've started doing storyboards for Master of None, or, as it's currently posted, Dragons and Demons. I know it looks rough, but I was trying to get the idea of what was going on in the scene.

Any and all critique is appreciated.

It looks fine to me. I'm still learning too. However, I think you can merge the top left and top right together. So when the character says I'm lost, the effect that he is surround by things adds to the feeling of being lost. From my experience, you always want to reduce the amount of panels as possible to make room for the next important scene.

That makes sense. I'll make that edit.

Two more characters from Master of None.

These are Gravy and a character named Jay. I'm not sure about Jay's current design; he's supposed to be wearing a gas-mask and jumpsuit, but I'm not sure if I communicated that well.

These are three of the five main characters from my story Master of None

From left to right, we have Arch, Eric, and Lincoln. I kinda had to rush to get these done; I might replace this version with a better one later if I have the time.

About the gas mask one, I think you should make the mouth piece a little bigger. From a distance, he looks like a monster.

Hmmm... It kinda does... I didn't really notice how misshapen his head looked until you pointed it out. Thanks!

cool old guy with a hat, thats a good expression he has. reminds me a bit of the grandfather in hayate no gotoku
also nice mask, but i agree make the apparatus a bit larger. when drawing masks or helments, sometimes it helps to draw a head underneath, to know you are making the helmet large enough to fit in properly. (assuming its a normal person wearing it)
good use of white for the cracked helmet :P

I'm working on getting the helmet right, but it's not something I'm used to drawing, so it may take a while. I actually based the four characters in the last image off of different movie genres: sci-fi, action, comedy, and western. If I get around to it, I'll post a full body image of these characters to give a better sense of design.

The mask dude reminded me of Zero from Borderlands more than anything. I like the Arch, Eric, and Lincoln sketches too. Keep at it Toxic
