Favourite Pokemon and Why?

Heyyyy everyone,

                          Since its the 20th Anniversary of Pokemon, I think it'd be cool if we had some Pokemon themed fun and games!!!

Sooooo where to start but with....who is your favourite pokemon and why?

For me......Its gotta be this little guy

But as for why Squirtle is my favourite....well I had two other brothers who had pokemon too and it just so happened they went for the fire and grass starters. For some reason we couldn't overlap and take the same starter so I had the water starter. Ever since then, I always take the water starter in every iteration of the pokemon games. I love water powers, I don't know why but i've always hasd a soft spot for water users. Out of all the many hundreds of hours i've spent playing pokemon blue....Squirtle has been with me every second of the way!

So.....who's your favourite pokemon and why?

For me, it's Mightyena!

Even before I played the Pokemon games, I remember having these 2005 Annuals, and the Pokemon Annual 2005 was one of them. It featured the complete Hoenn Pokedex, and when my brother taught me how to play for the first time (on an emulated Pokemon Sapphire) and allowed me to create my own team, I chose Torchic as my first starter. However, the first Pokemon I caught was a female Poochyena which eventually evolved into a badass Mightyena. And that Mightyena was my strongest Pokemon, even stronger than my Blaziken. Since then, whenever I go into a new region, I always catch the neighboring Dark type if I can't catch a Poochyena.

Here we go:



Jigglypuff! Why: Well first I should mention, I wasn't allowed to play or watch Pokemon as a kid. My first introduction to Pokemon was the original anime when I was about 12 or 13 years old. In all of the anime, this was the first Pokemon I fell in love with. It's round and pink, its cheeks puff up when its angry, and its song is permanently stuck in my head. I can't not love it.



Psyduck! Why: I love ducks. And a few of my family members love Psyduck too, so I always enjoyed drawing little Psyduck doodles for them. I definitely become really fond of it after that.



Ditto! Why: It's purple, it's adorably derpy, and it transforms into other Pokemon thus giving them derpy faces too. Honestly, what's not to love?!



Sylveon! Why: It's a Magical Girl. Since I'm currently trying to become a Magical Girl Gym Leader, this is definitely the Pokemon I need by my side.



Shaymin! Why: Just look at it!!!

Honorable mentions: The original trio and Pikachu (of course I love those, that's why I didn't mention them above!) Oddish, Diglett, Mantine, Torchic, Lotad, Piplup, Budew, Drifloon, Cubchoo, Deerling, Emogla, Fennekin, and many more but I think I've wasted enough page space already~

In other words: never ask me to name one favorite Pokemon. It ain't happening.

I've still never played a Pokemon game but I was very young I was like "that dragon guy is cool" then I was like "no this sucks". I never even gave it a chance, I don't even remember why I suddenly decided to hate the franchise...I didn't even know what it was about.

i have never played or watched Pokemon in any form (yes its terrible i know), but have always liked pikachu, probably because my favorite colour is yellow :P

My favorite is lilligant. I like to sweep with her. If you play the right moves, you can have this princess faint an all legendary team. I love to see her beat them because the image of her fighting monsters is hilarious and cool.


The team i use competitively are these six. It's a good team but they can't beat walls.

I have to add something new now. The new ice/fairy ninetails!

I never thought I would see a snow ninetail fox, kind of pissed because that was my antagonist of my story Snow Fox and the mountain. I know I know, there can be more than just mine.

Cubone for his design and for the "cubone, cubone" sound he makes  I have 3 or 4 different Cubone cards, not sure if there are more but i'd love to get them all!

for me seeing gyarados for the first time back when i was a kid was the moment when i transitioned from "playing pokemon cuz the other kids were also doing it" to "gyarados is my pokemon, i want this guy for realz"

By far my favorite is Gengar! 90's baby so original 151 always close to my heart. For some reason I grabbed onto Gengar and never let go. Have a super sick painting on my wall of him!

The legendary Pokemon, Lugia, will always hold a special place for me. The movie Pokemon 2000: The Power of One was my first movie, and when it talked, I thought that was cool. I remembered as a kid I would tell my uncles that my Lugia can talk just like in the movies lol

Pokemon is my all time favorite video game though I first got into the anime and it wasn't until years later I found out it was also a video game and manga as well. As for my favorite pokemon it would probably have to be meditite since it's a psychic/fighting type


My favorite pokemon type has always been the psychic type. I also like the fighting type though not as much as psychic type since personality wise I've always been really energetic and feisty.

As for favorite legendary definitely would have to be mewtwo since I grew up on the original pokemon anime and mewtwo is also a psychic type.
