what is your favorite final fantasy game?

FF4 was really good too.. i have Crisis Core and i thought that they could have made it way better.. what turned my off the most about was all those pointless side missions.. you could be playing those for hours on end... then you forget about the real reason your playing the game in the first place.. the story!! lol .. although, i have to admit that i love Zack's backstory.. he's way better than Cloud IMO..

@ Kite:i can't wait for FF13 myself!! it's going to be so great! (i hope, lol) ..

@ Mr. Chimp: as for FF14 it's said to be MMORPG and i hope that they wont charge a monthly fee to play like they did with FF11

Although Zachs is a pure hero, I like Cloud: he's more human.
Cloud is a shy torn guy who tries desperately to make it up to his brother like/model, Zachs.
 Zachs is his hero: Cloud knows his own limits but discovers himself in a pure final fantasy journey.

His journey is more psychological than anything else: they concern mourning, finding a goal in life, letting go of the past and forgiving himself, which keeps on going on in Advent children movie.

Such a complicated character, away from the traditionnal hero patterns is a surprise: hard to understand and lame at first but full of humanity.

to me it was the the other characters from ff7 that was forgiving, patient, and more humane (Tifa and Aerith) .. i mean they knew all about Clouds lies.. but, they still kept with him till the end.. they even fell in love with him.. to me that was the ultimate betrayal to Zack  ..

i still remember the scene where Cloud and the others went to Zacks house.. and they all pretended like they didn't even know Zack! ..

i mean, sure.. in the end Cloud stopped Sephoroth.. but, to me that's all the good he ever did.. IDK i guess i don't like liers and fake people very much, lol .. i really would have liked Cloud more if he at least had some respect for Zack and his GF.. and dammit Cloud, stop lying dude!!

Cloud is complicated, makes errors...he's more human than the others! Human doens't mean gentle/nice/forgiving but being away from heroes standards.

It's so boring when all video games show the same naive guys with pure hearts who give their life to save the world...for once we have a normal guy who isn't perfect!

oh and for the record Cory.. there are tons of video games out there that have main characters that are just as you described.. as in "Human" , nowhere near perfect and "being away from heroes standards".. in fact most, if not all the games i own have those types of characters in them

also, i do find Clouds story interesting (ff7 is my favorite RPG of all time!) .. it still doesn't mean that i'm going to go out and buy a Cloud t-shirt or poster anytime soon, lol .. what i mean is, i like his story .. i just don't like him.

Everyone is so excited about that game, including myself. My friend and I watched a video, and bloody hell, the graphics, omg the graphics. They're to die for. @_@ I'm currently playing FF Revenant Wings on DS at the moment, which is pretty fun, though I prefer FFVII or FFVIII out of all of them.
