Puzzled over the word "Greebled" so hard I went ahead and searched it up. I learned a new thing today! \o/

Quote
anyways I finally did my first version. A bit meh on the colour scheme. I found it hard to decide on what colors I liked other than yellow, which I don't think is appropriate for my hero coat.

Yay! I do think you're the first person to enter the canon as a coat ;p Also haha that's an interesting backstory to your emblem. Destruction and experimentation is strong with the raiders.

Looks great so far! Colour scheme is a tricky thing. That beige looks fine too, if you're not wanting a saturated yellow. Or maybe a dark base colour with yellow trim? Yellow accents somewhere sound like a good idea.

Greebles are magical lol
We've got a greeble workshop as well. Actually we've got 2 because I made one without realising that Lego had made one haha.

Yeah the emblem was originally circular, and it was a cross between a gear and a compass, like half of each.
Lol Yeah it seems I was a raider before I knew it :P

Yeah yellow trim is a nice idea although I don't want to go bumble bee stripes popping yellow haha. I'll see what I can come up with now that I've got something to work on to improve. I might add a second colour on the coat like a front and back different colour or something.

Version 2.
Complete revamp.
Even my hero coat is a WIP lol
also added a sleeve detail that I think all coats should have to keep the cold out. I might have seen it in real life, possibly.
not sure if the logo should be on the higher section or where it is.
no doubt I'll change it all again haha.

not sure what sort of blue I want, I tried a bunch and a darker sort of duck egg blue sort of works.

Yeaup, I definitely love me some zippers. Awesome coat design and logo suuper! And haha that's an abstract way to join the canon indeed. You can also Roshon-up if you want to keep the face a mystery. Nair has a tiki-mask too so yeah.

@Echo hell yes. Man that colour scheme reall does work. Love how he looks. I need the sleekness of your character designs, Echo. Too good haha

8) *Adjusts glasses with a flashy lens glint*
Yes, Lego, yes.

The coat is waaaay too long X'D But I couldn't help it. The rule of cool demanded it.
Also, long coats are so fun to draw c:

More to be seen. Coming soon.

Long......0_0.....

It's official Echo, you've gone longer than I ever thought possible (and here when I first put my description down I was going for subdued. How far these designs have come)

Will review stories upon request. My latest arc: http://goo.gl/KYgsfF

@Suuper Sweet design! I approve of the colour ^^

@Coryn There's always room to go farther c:

I might have gone a little out of my depth with the pose. Fun experimenting though.

there's different levels of adding colour and shade, each with a higher level of accuracy and complexity. I'm working on 4 simple styles at the moment for a possible webtoon/cartoony manga.
Basically it's adding shade that is the issue because that's what creates the sense of 3d and form. it's easy enough to use the fill bucket and add random colours everywhere. a flat-colour sketch style (no shade, or just handdrawn hatching shade) is probably the easiest style possible.

Pick a handful of your sketches and try my colouring tutorial on youtube as a starting point, you can adjust the workflow to suit your own style but it's a pretty simple standard way that I do it.

I'm going to make some tests now and see what happens. Watched the tutorial. Definitely useful.

Also Echos' stab at these are making me want to take a stab at them. Hero Coats always were the perfect way to draw Raiders and I'm doing these regimens anways. Couldn't hurt to make a hero coat lineup again.

P.S Character reveal when?

Thanks guys! c:

@suuper It's okay. A Hero's epicness isn't all determined by their coat. But everything you do in it will be extra cool  8)

Yesh, do it! XD
