I did this on a whim when watching Black Bullet. There's a really special feeling to when an anime is rolling out its first episode. It's flashy and full of energy. Same with reading the first chapter of a manga. Of course, this is meant to draw you in.
We probably subconsciously do this all the time, not what we find good in an anime or manga when we see them begin, but I thought this could be useful to do anyways.
Note any things as you watch the first episode of an anime, or read the first chapter in a manga. Whether it's on characters, plot, setting or the like. Try to compare with your stories after the notes. And maybe people will agree with something you noticed.
