Manga Artists Wanted / Re: Artist Needed! (Collab) -Paid-
« on: February 22, 2015, 03:59:27 AM »
Not necessarily. Manga is fun when it comes to coming up with stories. Drawing it becomes less fun the more difficult it gets. Authors tend to ask for really difficult things to draw. Asking for multiple actions for one panel that just don't make sense or really expansive backgrounds. Some aren't very good at elaborating which increases the artists frustrations and makes the entire project not fun anymore. Sometimes you struggle to draw what they want and then when you do your really happy until they ask you to redo it or have the next page be 10x worse when it comes to difficulty level.

Drawing is only fun if you like what your drawing, stories can start out fun but then head in a different direction.
For example Fanservice kills all fun for me and I don't want to draw anymore or the main character says/does something horrible that the author wanted to be seen in a good light. Thinking up new concepts is really fun though (actually writing it not so much -for me anyway but I'm not a writer).

That's a matter up to opinion  ;) It all depends on the team itself, and as everyone knows, you can't stereotype every team on the planet.

at last i will say he do better then some people who only say is fun to make a manga and let make together.

most of the time the artist will only care how much work they have to do, and how good the person writing skill.

most writer skill is bad, very bad until that the artist will have to do a lot of work, more work then if he or she do it alone.

so unless you story and writing skill is soo good, no artist will help you with out a good pay for a long story.

Isn't that being a bit too judgmental about things?  :glare:
Careful what you say, MangaRaiders isn't just artists alone. Writers are just as good and capable in their work as well!  :cop:

And what's so wrong about doing things just for the fun of it? No need to be so utilitarian about it...

I'm thinking... Gladiator-esque type? Only these guys are career fighters, not slaves picked off from the streets.  :noidea:

Those are some pretty interesting stories you got going on there Tsundere-Stylo... especially Little Dog Jack. I too have similarly connected stories all built within the same world, although I didn't base it on Present-Day Earth, instead formulating a completely new one aptly named Terra. Like Little Dog Jack, the protagonist of one of my side stories that's titled Fool's Hoard by chance comes across a suitcase full of cash left on the train he was traveling on. What he didn't know was that underneath the suitcase was a powerful magic stone called the Philosopher's Stone. This marks the protagonist for assassination and pulls him and his younger sister into the unforgiving world of the criminal Calis Syndicate that smuggles and deals in the sales and illegal possession of Philosopher Stones, a syndicate that he would later...

You have many things in common with myself. Just wanted to share that fact  ;) Although I tend to lean more towards realism in my writings. I'm curious to see what else you have in store  8)

Reading your description, I'm assuming you already have 3 chapters laid out but none of them are illustrated, so in order to convince the publisher to print your work, you need an artist to do that. And by pay you mean paid in royalty, not actual paychecks. My suggestion would be to elaborate on your current situation so potential artists don't get confused or trapped in situations they don't want to be in.

Other than that, good luck on your ventures!  ;)

Collaboration (Art Exchange) / Re: Cursed Mesiah Cover

hey ayano
but judging by your drawing skills, I suppose you're like 11 or 12 years old?
sorry if I'm wrong, but thats my impression.

Tis not age that's the concern, it's drawing ability. Everyone has different skill levels and those skill levels don't necessarily match up to how young or old they are. If what you presume is an 11 or 12 year old drawing, then I must be a 5 year old by your presumption!

Also, Tanaka-san, your art seems pretty good so far. Just keep a look out on proportions as the character's legs seem thinner than his upper body.  ;) Keep it up and you'll get better!

Side note: The link to your manga is gone, as Inkblazers shut down beginning of February.

Use of force convinces Kaito to help Nanami under threat of death! All because of accidental discovery (This sounds so cliche already  :D)

I think it'll be an interesting story. I normally don't write romance but I know a good one when I see it  ;)

a fair warning , if you want to have fun it is best to do it your self, when work with other there is no fun.

Merely an opinion, not a fact. We'll try to be as productive and enthusiastic as we can about our upstart project. Wish us luck!  ;)

lol, I know. I just wanted to use the phrase "under the bus of bad taste".

Btw, whenever I say 'rude' I say it a joking way (also in a funny voice). I forget that my real life mannerisms don't translate through text. I say it a lot to my friends so for me it's a joke but it probably sounded like I was actually offended (oops).

Emoticons, my friend! Lots and lots of emoticons!

You seem to be over shooting again. Work on one one-shot first. You don't need to have 50 in a line-up focus on just getting one then if that goes well then you can start planning out more.

My dear darlingGrim, there be no such thing as overachieving, only underachieving! (Join us, we say, it'll be fun, we say  :ninja:)

Long Live MangaRaiders! And to the success of Team Caesar! (oWo)7

I'm up for people asking for artists whichever way they choose to be. Honestly, people shouldn't be forced to show anything they feel uncomfortable to show. (Freedom of Expression! Woohoo! )

In addition, I believe an automatic confirmation PM of a newbie's registration detailing the rules and layout of MangaRaiders from the get-to as well as a recommended introduction post is the best way to get the notice out, and even if that fails, simply kindly point them in the right direction.
There should never (and shouldn't be) any backlash against those that don't necessarily adhere to the MR setup, especially against newbies as it paints the picture of this community being a bunch of judgmental,  serious, no-crap stick-ups with a bigoted attitude (We really are just a bunch of happy-go-lucky introverted amateurs looking for an outlet... )

Also rude. I have a gay male (adult) friend that likes him so don't just throw teenage girls under the bus of bad taste.

It's called a generalization. Doesn't mean it's ill-intended (We all love your friend on the inside )

I agree with MangaMan26. People forget MangaRaiders is a forum to improve one's works and further one's ambitions, not douse one's opinions or will onto another in hopes of changing their mind. We support, not manipulate, and to abuse one's trust or reputation would be to undermine the foundation this brilliant community is built upon.

Haters be hatin'  :ninja:

You know I never fully understood that one^  :notunderstand:

Is it supposed to be like keep you enemies close and watch them so that they don't screw you over?
Or is it supposed to be like don't hate your enemies back and be nice to them?

It is better to have control of the worst things than it is to have control of the best things.

But anyways my philosophy is all about adaptability. Bend yourself to others, yet deny others to bend you. Flow like air, yet be strong like the rock. Fiery as the flame, yet cool as the water. But most importantly, retain the spirit of oneself, for that is the core of one's existence.  :ninja:
