The opposite is true as well. We, the artists, could do a whole months of work and then you could just disappear or suddenly be unable to pay Then we would be losing that same $. It goes both ways. That's why 50% tends to be best in situations like this.

I have prior and current experience working as a comic assistant, and since I have my own projects to work own, the assistant position is what I would probably be interested in. I have done character color flats and shading for the previous assistant work. I use Clip Studio Paint Ex so I can do word bubbles and other things.

I do need to ask if it's negotiable to have at least 50% of the pay up front and have the reimbursement added to the base amount (per every 2-3 pages depending on what's decided) as most artists working digitally already have all the tools and programs they need so it's not much of an incentive otherwise and most artists take payment up front.

Looking pretty nifty. ^^ (And you told me the character so I will refrain from joining in the game. XD)

As for Black and White vs Color, that depends more on the artists.  If they are more comfortable with manga styles then Black and White is fine as there are typically different things being emphasized with manga.  If they prefer more of a Comic style of drawing, then color is preferred.

I ask because there's typically a large difference in the price between the two. Your budget would appear to lean more toward the side of B&W side of things.

Unfortunately I do not have any completed references.  However, I can provide images for reference/jumping off points.

Will the concept art be a paid project in addition to the pages or are they included as part of the page budget?

And another question, do you have prior experience working with artists?

A few questions. (may add more)

Can we hear a little a little more about the project?
Are you wanting black and white? Color?
Is there a specific timeframe/deadline for each page?
Do these demos have completed scripts?
Do you have completed character references or is concept art involved?
Are the artists in charge of everything from storyboards to word bubbles?
What method of contact will be used?

I worked with a few artists here several years ago for a brief time, but with MR slowing down, I suspect they, and anyone else who has collaborated, may not see your offer.

I feel like Discord is the go to for specific group types nowadays. Especially with the Disboard search website. Unfortunately not all of the good ones can be found there.

It's nice to see this story again.

I'm interested, though will it follow the same plot as the old one or a new one?

>_>; Has it really been well over a year since I posted here? Wow... Wish I could say I've been hard at work, but between graduating from college last December, family health issues, and a bad case of mental burnout I haven't done a whole lot. That said I have been doing assistant work for two webcomics since I last posted art here.

Just after I last posted art I joined Libertades as an art assistant for their comic, The Book of Chronicles.

Chronicles follows Yarubi, a young human girl, who finds herself in a new fantasy world and a new form herself.

I did character colors and shading for about the second half of chapter 3.

This is the cover page for the chapter btw.

I'm mostly helping with character flats and rendering with some other parts mixed in including in the one above. I've enjoyed working on the series with Libertades thus far and we hope to see you guys on webtoons!

And the second comic isn't released yet but it's a Pokemon: Mystery Dungeon fancomic I do a lot of the character flats for.

Aside from that, I don't know how often I'll be posting art here in the future so if you'd like to follow my art more you can find me on the Manga Raiders Discord or by following my Ko-fi. No subscription required btw. Although it would be greatly appreciated.

Haha. I post so infrequently now that I wasn't remembering to edit the color each time so it's probably time. XD

As I was falling asleep I remembered something to post, but now I've forgotten again. :/

I have also struggled with insomnia for years, but due to adhd which affects your sleep hormones. But I've found a way to get sleep (almost) every night this past year. The first two may not be suited for everyone due to neurotype differences, but I'll put them out there.

1. Melatonin gummies/pills. Biggest lifesaver ever. I generally have the best luck taking them after 11pm due to my delayed circadian rhythm, but they usually kick in within an hour and I actually get a sleepy feeling unlike before. Pills work better for me.

2. Phone games. I have to occupy my mind as I give in to sleep to keep my thoughts from wandering and staying alert. I set the screen to the lowest brightness and have a timed blue filter on. I play until I nod off. Best that it's games that have no goal other than the game itself. Solitaire, sudoku, and mahjong have worked best for me thus far.

3. Socks. Cold feet affect your sleep.

4. Don't spend time in bed doing any other activities such as work or even scrolling on your phone as that trains your brain to be awake at that location.

5. Know that laying and resting with your eyes closed is much healthier than not resting at all. Sometimes knowing this fact makes it a little easier to not stress about falling asleep.

If I remember anything else I'll add it.
(Also saying goodbye to the colored text with this post, hah.)

I will help with what I'm able. ^^

Sounds like it might be World Customize Creator? Been a while since I stopped reading it.
