Tips and Tutorials / Opinions on artwork?
« on: July 17, 2017, 09:06:57 PM »
Just want an opinion from the artists in here; do you prefer manga in color or black and white? I'm writing a manga and my artist and I want opinion on whether to go traditional black and white, or if we should use color. If most people prefer black and white, there's no sense in spending extra costs in coloring utensils. Thanks! :)

I'm either stupid or it's not possible to upload photos on mobile - which really sucks, because I really want to show off characters we've made for my upcoming manga. Can someone tell my stupid self how it's done, or can I not do it? There is no option to when I click on attachments and other options :( I'm on an iPhone 7

I know I need to practice - I meant more along the lines of where do I begin the practice? Are there certain things I should practice? Guidelines? Faces? Etc. And thank you, I know a lot about anatomy , I know how important it is:)

Now I know this is a long shot, but I want to learn to draw, in the manga style. So I'm just asking for some tips - where do I even start? How do I improve? What should I know about, what should i do and not do? Anything will help! I've been doing some rough sketches and I'm seeing progress, but not much - tips from artists would be greatly appreciated. How did you learn to draw? :)

Manga Writer workshop / Opinions on writing format?
« on: June 20, 2017, 11:05:48 PM »
When writing do you guys find it best for your artist writing in novel format, or script format? I've had varied opinions on this and I'm curious as to which you guys use. I find it easier to write in script just because I find it's easier to convey a characters exact emotions and actions, whereas writing like a novel I feel it makes this a lot more difficult because you have to keep switching the point of view.

I'm looking for a manga artist who wants to work with me on a Shonen I'm writing. The world is already fairly developed and I'm just looking to get started on it! However, while I may be good at writing and visualizing, I can't draw to save my life. This isn't a hired deal - once we get going, you'll have just as much a say as me. I'm looking for partnership, not just hired help. If you're interested in the project, titled Astral, feel free to hit me up :) it's a shonen, but I want a nice focus on mature elements and character development as well, particularly with the 3 main characters - Aias, the protagonist, Sepheran, his best friend and Gasha, the deuteragonist. These three characters are pretty set in stone, but you'll have full creative control with the designs of everyone else :) so let's work together! Any and all revenue will be split between us.
