We are considering about Comixpress.com for Anthology. BUt I haven't had time to check all details about them or read their TOS. Which I have to do later. I like to know if anyone heard about them or have experience working with them.
Also if you can, plz check them and post their details. Such as a if they have a setup fee, printing rules anything important which publishers should check.

Just quickly grabbed this from there FAQ
6. Are there Setup Fees for my job?
Not anymore! Files submitted to ComiXpress which meet our Specifications are no longer charged any Setup or PrePress fees. In these tough economic times we realized this would help more up-and-coming artists get their work out there, and that really is why we’re here.
-
Yup I noticed that too. One plus point about this printer.
-
The general concensus on the internet is that Comixpress has better service (it seems by a small margin) than Ka-Blam but Ka-blam offers higher print quality and variety in sizes.
-
Now we are having doubts about print quality of Kabalm. There was a mistake in first copy cory had ordered and after complaining they sent another copy which has same mistake. This is not something happened from a print on demand type publisher.
-
any idea on whats going to happen with that? i mean, if the replacement of a messed up print is messed up then why bother with a company that treats its customers like that?
-
Only reason to use Kabalm is they are the only one which is cost effective for smaller publications like ours. But with these print problems we have to think again before giving them MRA 3.
So Comixpress.com going to be our next option!
-
Ah
-
Yeah. We try to keep the price as low as possible. Same time trying to keep the best quality.
Problem is we haven't seen many reviews about comixpress.com So we have no info about how their service is.

The biggest problem we have with Comixpress is communication. These guys don't reply fast. It takes ages. Very discouraging.
-
how long does it take for the anthology to arrive through shipping?? I ordered it a few weeks ago and it has yet to arrive... :hmm:
-
I think it's always take around a month not less. That's the problem with these print on demand guys. Service is not the best you get. But I'll ask Cory about it.
-
ok! Thanks hasith :D
-
We will be doing the 4th Anthology soon and now I have doubts about using Comixpress for it. But again we have problems with Ka-blam too and Lulu is too expensive.
-
ehhhh?? Theres more than one? COuld you give me the links to the others? i only bought 1 -.-
-
There are 2 Anthologies which are ready and on sale. 3rd one at printers still. Also there is writers anthology which is already on sale. Check Anthology board.
-
I will have to get all of them! I think its really cool that MR has its own anthologies.

I know this might now be all that helpful, but went to a place near me which is the only place in the county dedicated to comics ect (Daves Comics (http://www.davescomics.co.uk/) and asked about publishers in the UK (for my own projects), which if your intending to branch out this could be helpful...
now they told me that in the UK publishers are rather thin on the ground to the point of near non existent which is sad but they did tell me about these guys> A london based publisher called Selfmadehero (http://www.selfmadehero.com/catalogue.php) i don;t know if they will do what you are looking for but there you go :)

This is interesting....
So they publish Manga's for you? Like if me and a Manga artist let's say wanted to publish our manga, they would do it? and even distribute it into stores?
Wow... I'd have to look into that... I wonder if there's anyone else like them out there.
