Wow, this interview wasn't expected haha. I remember picking up a volume of scott pilgrim and paging through it a while ago, I was surprised how it was a good blend of cartoons and manga. Though I don't see the point in combining two really different things, but that's just me.

Have you found volume 2 and 3 of monkey manga?

Yea, need to find out if anyone translated it. There's a manga that people nicknamed Hetappi that's an actual legit 'how to' manga made by Akira Toriyama and some other guy. Though all you find on the net is a raw scan that's in chinese -_- but I'm really interested in this, when I am good enough in Japanese I want to buy the original on amazon.

Akira Toriyama!? Seriously? That would be worth the read and the bucks.

How far have you gone in learning japanese...?

Well it's hard to sort of grade myself, but I'm still a noob. I plan on restarting my daily program today. I use the site www.japan-activator.com though I'm still finding the best way to do it.

My father insists repitition is everything, so yeah a daily dose of the language will help. I keep on missing a few days when my father isn't around to enforce me though. I need to work on that.

He uses these small cards to write words on both sides. I wonder if that would work for something like Japanese.

Yeaup. I'm on 200 cards now and it's nice to know them. Nothing beats actually hearing the words though.

As for japanese i'm interested but terrified of hiragana. Where would one even start with something like that.

It seems a lot of people aren't on good terms with hiragana  Surprisingly I was quite fluent in it at one time, but I realised I was too good at it and needed to catch up on katakana. The real hard part about kana is changing between the two, it's like math.

Well hiragana is used to write japanese words and particles etc. and katakana for foreign words and animals/plants etc.  The first one'sone's characters are rounded and the later's is like slashes so to say.

It seemed cooler to me, being all japan-ish and all. Though I couldn't read manga SFX so I was pretty bumbed
