I did not get the political stuff at all. it's shame about this war that's going on as I can't really see a reason for it. the story has totally taken a shift. the plot is always "get our peaceful world back" but they have found a larger obstacle than the titans :P

Also I don't get this "titan earth levelling" threat, which side is that coming from....probably should have read a little more carefully lol

I think it's the collosal titan that they're talking about. Armin did do a number on the enemy state with his attack.

I feel sad that titans aren't even that dangerous in comparision to technology, but such is the way of things.

yeah with so much anti-titan stuff and all these human titans that are controllable it's definitely shifted away from the mindless fear. I think fear from other humans in war can be just as bad though, and it's portrayed quite well in the distrust and the carnage.

If I remember correctly, the "earth-flattening weapon" referred to the procedure of releasing the hundreds of titans that make up the three walls and lead them against their enemies with the power of the original titan. I could be wrong, but this does at least sound a bit more plausible than just the colossal titan.
