Alphabet Challenge
« on: October 10, 2013, 02:59:11 PM »
This is a writing challenge to encourage the use of a thesaurus, and dictionary.

The goal is to write a story that makes sense using each letter of the alphabet in order.
The first word must start with the letter 'A,' the second word must start with the letter 'B,' ... and so on, all the way to 'Z.'
You are allowed to use articles freely: 'a' 'an' 'the'

Here is my example:
Abbot bought Costello (a) diseased, enraged ferret; gleefully hoping injuries just killed (the) little man. Not one policeman questioned (the) ruddy slant upon (the) villainous William's xeric, yellowing, zygomaticus.

Explanation:
Abbot's full name is William Abbot.
Xeric means an extremely dry habitat, so I stretched the meaning a bit, implying a very dry smile.
zygomaticus actually refers to the zygomaticus muscles, both major, and minor. These muscles are what makes you smile. Again, I stretched the meaning a little bit, but this was the best I could come up with. What do you guys think?

Does anyone else want to take on this challenge? Good luck ^.^

Seems crazy. I'll try it out.

Anderson began chasing detrimental entities figuring gods had invoked judgement. Keeping loyal must not offset personal qualities. Righteousness shuns temerity, wretches,  xenophobics, yobs and zealots

temerity: reckless daring
yob: an uncultured, rude troublemaker
zealot: fervent or even militant proponent of something

ugh it gave me a real head ache. Glad i managed though. Not sure the sentence really makes sense

Agnostic Beliefs Caution Divine Endeavours Forsaking Gods. However Insightful Journeymen Know “Life’s Meaning” Negotiates Omnipotent Principles. Questioning Religions Sometimes Traverses United Views Withering Xenophobia Yielding Zen

This sounds fun.

Although being cautious did eventually form (a) great hazard, it just kept (a) lot more nobodies out. Perhaps Quinta revealed something through uttering vicious, wayward, xenophobic yammerings zestly.

Half an hour later...
No, I'm kidding. This is why I love the English language. Okay.

Explanation
- wayward; stubborn
- xenophobic; offensive to foreigners ( I think )
- yammerings; whiny comments
- zestly; with a lot of vigour.
Tomorrow I'll stop running...

Again, blaring (a) cacophonic, discordant euphonium flagrantly, Gerald hindered intelligence, jesting. Kari left, maddened, now oddly portentous, (a) quiet respite site taken, understandably. Vindication, (a) xenial zephyr.

Portentous: Ominous.
Xenial: Friendly.
Zephyr: A wind or breee.

THUSLY IT HAS BEEN STATED, AND IT SHALL BE WRITTEN.
