I don't think even the creators of Naruto  had thought a minor character like Hinata would ve become this popular. I think she is the most popular female character in Naruto next to Sakura.

That's possible, since Naruto is the biggest anime in the world.

I just downloaded episode 151, apparently one of the very best Hinata eps... she actually is the star of this one. I put some screengrabs in the photobucket Hinata folder

I like the younger one, at least her hair was unique... the older version of her, with the long hair, she just looks like a hundred other anime girls... though I'm sure it was done mostly because long haired characters are easier to draw (hair covers hard to draw areas like shoulders) and the later Naruto episodes seem absolutely horribly drawn, like they just turned it over to grade school kids to draw.  I mean I just recently watched episode one and two, and I was amazed... I had to check twice to make sure it was the same anime... the art was so good then. But, then again, people don't watch Naruto for the quality of the art....
