super nice character song, the phone call in the middle annoyed me since I dont like speaking in music, especially since that's the only voice at all it's very strange. but it matches up with the character story so it's not wrong I guess.
But the music was super beautiful.

epic banner, the colour is super soft and lovely.
appropriately named character is appropriately named.

I decided to make a very very short RPG game
LET. US. PLAY. IT!!!

but those sprites look awesome, that's way better than I can do :P

what's up with me and girls with short hair? They could be triplets for all you know
ehehehe.....
I go through hairstyle phases, I'm in a short hair phase moving to medium hair at the moment. I used to give my characters really long hair in the past, like down to the floor long.

@No1sy Thanks! It's been a while :)

I think I've had RPG Maker MV sitting in my Steam Library for years, but I have never done anything with it... I think I'm happy enough playing games, don't have to make my own!
Truuuue. The number and variety of games out there too is pretty overwhelming you can pretty much find something that you enjoy as well. I've always entertained the idea of making my own games because sometimes I just can't find the right one to play ^^;;

As for the sprites, haha I was comparing them to the sprites in the game maker, which of course are done professionally. But if you would like to play it, I could DM you?

@Walt Thanks! ^^

:o S-sorry about that. Actually, it does have lyrics and originally I thought of doing the vocals... yeah, I need to practice my singing ahaha.
But thanks for taking the time to listen! I appreciate it c:

So long hair O: Come to think of it, none of my characters have really really long hair...
I'd like to try more hairstyles. I've been reading a lot of manhwa recently in fantasy 1800s like settings and boy, some of the hairstyles just have so much character.
On the other hand, drawing male character with short combed hair is unexpectedly hard.

the RPG was brilliant!

took me about 15 minutes to clear because I couldn't find some items for a while, but it was a really good short game, with an awesomely cute ending. would definitely want to play another like it!!
very inspiring for me to try and just make a small game in a quick project.

I can't sing at all so I wont judge you ehehehe

and drawing any male character is a bit of a difficulty for me :P

fantasy/historical hairstyles are totally very interesting and inspiring, I need to increase my default hairstyle range :P

Yeah! Would love it if you could post a link in the thread! Understandable if you'd prefer to keep it more closed for now Echo.

Oh! Well, okay! I don't mind. It's not going anywhere, anyhow. I'll put the google drive link here then :)
Let me know if there's any issues accessing it, and feel free to share your thoughts about it (or if you run into any bugs!).

Update --

Been doing some digital sketching recently, practicing drawing one of my characters.

I also did a couple Mother's Day themed sketches of my mother characters and their families.

really great sketches!
good job showing the folds and whatnot on black clothes, which can be a pain to get the colours right.

love the mother's day ones!!
the first one is great cos there's so many dynamics with all the different characters
the second one is great because of the spot colour on the flower and the emotions in the piece.

The game was really cool! It was fun to play. How long did it took you to make? Do you know a lot about coding?

@Suuper Thanks! I used to do more group drawings in the past. Somewhere along the way it switched to solo shots. I've always liked group pictures though.

@Walt I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Making the whole thing, including drawing the character art, took roughly a week. I've dabbled with RPG Maker in the past, so I'm familiar with what it can do, and that helped a lot in terms of speed.

I don't know a lot about coding, unfortunately ^^; RPG Maker doesn't require heavy coding knowledge unless you want to make big changes. It has preset functions, such as "Show Text", "Transfer Player", "Create Variables", "Fadeout Screen", and so on, which makes it very convenient to create scenes.

RPG Maker is pretty fun to use imo c: There are a lot of tutorials out there for it and I was able to get past a few problems with a little research. The next game I'm planning for is going to take more time... but it's in the works  :thumbsup:

Update ---

@Walt Thanks!

@Suuper Thanks and yeah, it's super tempting to go with the regular T-shirt and pants when drawing a character. Although recently, I've been enjoying drawing folds XD

Update --

An artist on DA that I watch recently started their own YT channel and uploaded their drawing process. I really like their style, so I decided to experiment a bit using their video as reference. They do a whole bunch of different steps at the end that I wasn't able to follow, but it was still informative to watch and fun to try something new.

Wow, these are fantastic! I only recently got into fantasy drawings and these stuff are inspirational; i'm really itching to start drawing after seeing these! More specifically, the different angles and details you put on the clothes in the study is something I'm seriously taking notes on! Super great stuff, looking forward to your next post!

I do have to give you major props for your clothing work Echo! You have a knack for making it look both functional and cool, which is a line often wavered from in manga.

Wow, Echo. You've really come a long way since I've been out. This stuff is like, super pro level as far as I'm concerned. Your pencil work still has a lot of life in it that I've always loved, and your digital stuff is crisp and fresh. The variation in line weight goes a long way. You've really settled into your own. Wish I could say the same, haha, but you've been working hard, and you get the payoff on that, and my lazy butt gets exactly what I put in. :sure:
Haha signature go brr.
