@Lego Thanks! Sometimes I find it's easier drawing other people's characters too X'D
Let's see... sketching takes the longest for me. For these I estimate 2-3 hours, between looking at various sketches and such.
Lineart is roughly an hour. Shading another hour.
In total, I spent about 4-6 hours for each? I drew them on separate days.

@Manimal Thank you! ^^

@Suuper Thanks! XD Yep, tutorials are how I learn things best I find.
No kidding, I especially love seeing the other worlds artists see in their minds. Great drawing and writing inspiration!

Finished up requests from DA -

MisterDuwang's character, Nova

From MR, BobbyJoe's character Lane
Digital pieces always take me longer. This one I actually experimented with skin shading as I usually just shading with gray and multiply the layer. Here I chose a darker pink instead, something I've seen other artists do, and I quite like the outcome. Gotta work on it more...

This one is my character c: One whom I always see as wearing her cap low over her eyes (I'm not avoiding drawing her eyes, I promise o-o)
No one is perfect . . . that's why there's erasers and extra paper.

lovely pieces!
the coloured digital one looks nice.well done on the magic effect, although I think where the pink covers the characters clothes, it doesn't look like it's glowing, if that was the intention. So maybe adding another layer with overlay-mode, and panting white or a bright colour to give it a glow on the clothes would look better.

my favourite is the last one, partly because I'm partial to strap clips and clothing details haha. The vector/triangle fade out
at the bottom is a nice way to cut the illustration down without just fading it out or cropping it.

Thanks for the lighting tip suuper c: I will try that out.

Drawing's been slow this month. Haven't been doing a lot of finished pieces, although I have been doing many sketches, albeit really messy sketches.
Here's some finished stuff from over the past month.

Just love how your characters look. I'm always trying to figure out what their backstory is and stuff. Great pencil work as always. What's the last one? Nice colouring too.

All these years later and your inked drawings are still some of the best manga-styled art on the internet :)

@Lego Thanks! The first drawing actually has 3 random characters I drew with no particular story in mind, but you can guess what their theme is. The last one is a redraw of one of a pair of old characters whom I called The Frogmaster Brothers. I once imagined they were part of a Guild where the guildmaster was a giant frog  :hmm:

@Suuper Haha sketches have their own charm to be sure.

@NO1SY HEEEEYYY! Long time no see! Welcome back! Thankeee ><

@Manimal Thanks! I've been experimenting with colours so I'm glad you think so!

Thanks guys. I've actually been avoiding coffee as of late haha ^^ Opting for green tea or peppermint tea.
Yeah, no kidding, it's surprisingly tricky to add one more body on a page, especially traditionally.

Unfortunately, not as many traditional pieces from last month. I've been doing more practice with digital, colouring, and style.

I actually really like that scratchy, sketchy style you've used for the old dude. I think it makes it stylistically interesting and even gives it a dynamic feel.

I also love your three characters in the 4th image. You've managed to make each feel distict, and the effects you've used for their powers looks really cool!

@No1sy Thanks ^^ It's certainly easier for me to do a sketchy style as I don't have to worry about cleaning it up too much afterwards haha. Maybe I'll explore it more! Also, glad that you feel that about the 4th picture. That's what I was going for XD

@Suuper Thanks!

Update --

This past month I didn't get to doing many finished drawings. It's been busy =A= And I usually prefer to draw when I'm absolutely relaxed.

However, I did do a lot of sketching. Quick little things doodles of my characters. Here are a few from over the past months (took 'em with my phone instead of scanning them).
