nice headshot. I agree with Dev the shadow placement feels a little off. As well I think the nostril lines are maybe too low or too far apart, it makes the nose look quite wide. For learning shade and practice, photos and observation are your best bet obviously.

Hm, well I haven't posted here in a while. How've you all been? I've still been drawing, digitally and traditionally. I'll pull up a few for ya'll.

Also, thanks for your feedback guys! (super late, I apologize) I see what you mean on the nose. I haven't attempted to create anything similar to it yet. If you'd like to see more of my drawings, most of them are on my IG, where I'm a little more active.

Here are some new pieces done over the past few months, in no particular order:

Character - Nakaja and Neske (Charred Life)

Character - Eraen (Charred Life)

Character - Dae (Charred Life)

Character - Ailuja (Charred Life)

Looking real good Echo! Also, I may be being dumb, but have you posted your story on the the forum at all? If so I'd love to read it.

@Vikings Thanks c: Tbh, I have to credit references for help in anatomy. When I feel unsure about something, I go search it up. ^^ What parts stuck out specifically to you?

@Vacant I....did. A long time ago  However it's pretty outdated and I've actually scrapped everything I had in the story thread. It's in the rewriting process at the moment, plus I know I'm going to be editing it quite a bit so I'm a little hesitant about sharing the rough of it. But ey, that's what MR is for. I'd be glad for some feedback too. I'll get that updated for ya!

Eraen's body within that shot is perfect, people usually struggle on the legs and shoulders, especially in a position like she is in, and I love the confidence and boastful grin she has, that one emotion placed onto her face reveals her character more for the reader.

Ailuja's position also looks like a difficult position to do the anatomy so well, especially the shoulders and arm length, let alone the leg length even through her being on her knees.

I need to know more about this story much like @Vacant wanted to know lol

I empathise, I'm in a similar situation myself. Well I'll keep an eye out and look forward to reading it.

lovely stuff. and nice to see you around :)
the last one is my favourite, and I much prefer the traditional/monochrome stuff, probably because traditional can be really expressive and dynamic with the shading and stuff, whereas digital shading is often more realistic as blocks of colour.

@Walter Thanks man!

@suuper Good to see you too c: Yeah, I haven't studied colour very much and I find it a challenge since I'm used to monochrome. Textures and shading definitely more fun in traditional drawing for me.

A while ago I did a series of pictures using my colour pencils as a sort of self-challenge (and to get out of an art block). Here a few of the better ones. I had to draw them without setting down guidelines (the colours like green and orange are really hard to erase well ^^; ) so the anatomy might be a bit wonky.

Character - Kiaut

Character - Dave

Character - Eono and Raven

Character - Roun

Last one is my favourite. You have such a knack for making characters pop with pencil. Illustrative stuff. Raven is also a good one
