Inktober is such a mess. Maybe I should participate next year by starting out with one of those bulk packs of Bic ballpoint pens.
I'm also really digging the shadow design that follows most of the characters. It has such a distinct substance that makes them all uniform. Like, you can really tell that they're a similar if not the same "species", sort of. It's a really nice touch.
Haha signature go brr.

@Coryn Shadow...men... you couldn't mean the ones that show up during sleep paralysis?
*Goes to search it up* Oh gosh that nightmare fuel!!  :(
Haha, thanks though, Coryn. The shadow parts were my favourite to do.

@Suuper Yup. And I can feel the other ones starting to give out too. Thank you! ^^

@Lego Thanks! They took about 1-3 hours to do, as I was usually rushing to complete them before midnight haha.
Yeah, Dave has a normal outfit on purpose. Maybe I should post the story... then it'll make sense  :D

@Mahlua Yeaaaah makes you rush push for time everyday and dem ink supplies can so be expensive, man.
I get what you mean on the shadow design. I was going for a similarity to link them all so I'm glad that came through! Thank you! XD

I try my best to buy the cheapest art supplies I can get, partly because I'm a cheapo at heart but also because I don't want to believe that "money=>better art". there is a certain difference between cheap and low quality though, like pens that leak or blob, which are too risky for me XD

wow 1-3 hours each. that's some dedication for Inktober. Actually mine were about an hour on the days I did it. Didn't always finish before midnight though haha.

@suuper I getcha. I find it's hard to find that balance between affordable and good-quality. Like, man, one copic marker costs as much as a pack of lower-quality markers...

Haha to be honest that was me too  But I figured if I did most of the drawing before midnight my effort counted for that day.

I love the style of the recent drawings, is that for a project of sorts? Or just practice?

Dr. Kirtscher Rain and Eolran are my favourites (dose' names though haha, Echo you're legendary at making complicated names hahaha. Teach me!)  But I love the linework in all of them overall. Not only do the characters have great shading but the trees and animals and other props do too. You had a great Inktober! Great stuff!

I love your render style for wood, its really versatile as you've used it in different ways for each of the pictures.
great folds and shading on the clothes, they look really realistic. and cool to see the same characters in different styles.
I love all the extra plant details with the different types of leaves, petals and fungi growing on each scene.

how big are these images by the way? I get the feeling they are about A5 or slightly less? don't why just a feeling :P

@Gabryel Thanks! I drew them for Inktober. The characters themselves are from a fantasy story project I'm working on. I kinda used Inktober to practice drawing them :)

@Lego Thanks man! Haha, sometimes I think I should stick to normal names lol. I use a system for some of the names. For example, Eolran's from a clan that often puts "-an" in their names. Otherwise... I use the roll off of the tongue method  ;)

@Suuper Wow... you're spot on O_O How'd you do that? Yeah, actually 7-8-9 and 10-11-12 are drawn on two letter-sized pages, so they're on the small side. I find its easier to draw a fullbody character if they're 1/4 the size of a page.
And thanks c: It's fun making up different plants and such.

@Walter Thank you! ^^

Update --

Inktober days 13-18. These ones are animal themed. The first 4 were drawn on half a paper, while the last 2 were done on a full paper.

13 Wolf

14 Deer

15 Bird

16 Dog?

17 Dragon

18 Dinosaur

haha I'm surprised I got it right :P
I guess the level of detail meant that you're not drawing it so small (or you're insanely good), but the thickness of the lines and the way the ink flowed meant it wasn't so big either.

you should have totally posted these on the Inktober topic haha it would have been great to see these as they came out.
absolutely gorgeous animals, and amazing you can produce such a good quality every day for Inktober - I was just all over the place XD

are the animals of your own design? they're all similar to real animals but they've got that uniqueness to them.
the wolf one is probably my favourite, folllowed by the bird. Although the dragon is pretty cool too :P

Oh gawd Echo your Inktober really was amazing. Look at those animals! These are beautiful stuff to look at. Love em all. The first one is my favourite. That huge wolf reminds me of so many of my favourite wolfs in popular culture (White Fang, Ghost, the wolf in the last season of Samurai Jack) that I have to insta like it. But the Dinosaur is cool too. It should be cute with its chubby body but those shadow eyes make me fear it. Nice effect.

You really have a great illustrative style. I need to learn this. Teach me!

Incredible work here, it's so uniform and neat. You've got a lot of control and skill with a pen, I'm super jealous! Keep up the good work.

@suuper That makes sense O:
Some days it just flowed out smoothly. Other days (as you'll see in the following drawings) weren't so good imo. Always gets a little tough in the middle haha.
And yes! Mostly of my design. I find that tweaking already existing creatures is way easier than trying to make up an entirely new species XD

@Lego haha thanks! Ikr, wolves just add a special touch to stories ^^
There's a lot on the "teach me" list now  Even though I haven't recorded them all down lol. I should just do a big compilation of them someday...

@devola Thank you!! I'll admit, trying to do the long lines in one stroke without messing up brought on quite a bit of nervousness XD

Update --

Inktober days 19-24 was a rough week. I broke off from the themed drawings and tried to do something else. My quality varied here and there depending on what I was drawing.

19 Irked

20 Unimpressed

22 Foxy
