Thanks guys :-D

Been actually keeping up with my drawing everyday resolution, whether it be just doodling or doing a random character sketch. On that note, also been writing everyday so far. Just a little freewriting journal, but it's working!

Here are some of the random character sketches - smol character designs I feel like doing in the moment.
The last one is actual concepts for another story I'm working on.

wow awesome set of sketches!
Are you just drawing these straight off without guidelines or anything? because it looks like you're drawing in pencil but I don't see any lines underneath the main ones. pressing super light maybe?
I love the diversity of the designs, they all look so interesting!!
my favourite is the bubbly spaceman one :)
plus I love the magic/monster props!

You should post in the sketch survival if you're doing daily sketches! it'll be more fun with everyone involved :P

OMG I love these guys! They all sorta fit together too which is awesome. I can totally see them as NPCs in a video game

Thanks guys! qwq

@suuper I did put guidelines, at first very lightly, but once I figure out what I want in a drawing, I'll do some serious erasing and press over the lineart several times to make it look super clean X'3

Also truuuuue, I'd totally forgotten that was the sole purpose of that thread haha

@Coryn I'm glad c: I think I definitely had that in mind while drawing them, especially thinking about professor layton NPCs, who sometimes have this bizarre element to them, whether design or strange proportions.

Wow Echo these look really great! There's always been such a charm to your stuff. Your legendary pencil lineart doing the trick as always. The second one sort of reminded me of Soul Eater for some reason. Like he belongs in a wacky shounen manga with dark elements? I don't know why haha.

Also kudos on the resolutions. Daily stuff makes the world go round.

The reference to Layton totally makes sense! They give me a big Zelda vibe as well!

@Lego Thank youuuu. Haha, I feel like he'd be in a dark setting too. Actually my brother said it'd look better with a lantern hanging off of his hat instead of a bell, and that got my imagining the character flying through dark dense forests to deliver mail.

@Coryn *GASP* Yushhh the Zelda is still strong with me QwQ

Been legit lazy when it comes to scanning my drawings in to post.
Here are some of the other ones I did during January. Surprisingly, I was able to draw something every day!
Most of it was traditional though. Didn't touch my tablet at all. ^^; So perhaps this month I will do a little more digital.

Charred Life. 1. Roun (with wing) 2. Dave (in traditional outfit) 3. Nakaja (from reference)

More concept art for other story (with the monster prop creatures from last post).

SHE DOES NOT PASS THE VIBE CHECK. I REPEAT. SHE DOES NOT PASS THE GOOD VIBES CHECK.

Really fantastic work Echo! :)

Love all the recent sketches!
I rarely scan my traditional, for sharing I take a photo and then my phone uploads to Google photos, where I can grab it to upload for sharing.

But absolutely fantastic sketches, nicely creative and solid poses and linework. The concepts are cool too.
Keep it up!
A mix between digital and traditional is nice. I draw on paper in the evenings as downtime from my screens before bed.

Always loved your pencil work Echo. It's pretty unique! Great stuff.  Really like your portraits too. I could do with more face studies to make my characters look more unique

That is definitely my favourite!

@Slammer LOL thanks!

@Suuper I always find the quality of taking a picture isn't as clear as when I scan it, so I usually use it as a last resort ^^; But yeah, I think it's been helping to draw everyday for sure o-o The power of practice woah.... Thanks!

@Lego Thank you~! It's been quite interesting, doing portrait stuff. I have an image in my head, and then I go try to find a photo reference online that matches it haha.

Drawing this month has slowed a bit, as in, I'm still art-ing something everyday, but it's branched off to more sketching and even painting a little. So less cleaned and finished pieces.

Here's a couple I did so far.
1. Roun
2. I call it the "Salad Knight"

Both look fantastic :)
Yeah since I've started doing more monthly, as well as daily, I've started to branch out more and take on more long running projects.
Sketching and painting, lovely :)

@suuper Thanks! c: Ohh, good for you! Yeah, I want to start to do more larger finished works. Daily sketches have been pretty satisfying, but there's nothing like a good 'ole finished piece.

Some digital stuff. I find that using the tablet is great for getting quick concepts and sketches down WITHOUT smudging (I'm sorry pencils, you can't beat the stylus there) :D Not to mention it helps in making coloured references.
