Drawing beautiful women for the educated artist.
« on: March 06, 2013, 08:42:31 PM »
This was requested by Kage, as he wishes to draw sexy women. Let us begin with some basic ideas.

To draw a sexy woman, you must first understand how to draw regular women. This is the hardest, most vital step. But completely mandatory, I'll give you a few moments to master female anatomy.

....

....

And we're back. Now assuming you are now a master, let's move onto the sexy part.

Now maybe you were expecting something different, but being sexy is all about form, positioning, and expression.

Of course sexy varies from person to person, so it's really hard to make judgment call. But if you go with good anatomy, it'll bring you to sexiness, though again, everyone has different tastes. Maybe you like glasses, larger women, thinner women, hair, eye shape, and a million things you don't notice.

However, I find that pretty much everyone of any gender can agree that boobs are awesome.

So that's not a bad place to start.

There are two ways to draw breasts, the good, proportional way, and the balloon way. Again, proportion is everything. Well drawn breasts are easy to pick out, and since they are more comfortable to the human psyche, tend to be preferred. Of course some people may prefer the balloon method, being a lover of manga and anime, I see these types everywhere. But again, tastes vary.

But I think what might be most important is to draw what you believe is sexy, then see how other's react, cause if the internet has taught me anything, it's that even if you have the weirdest most f*cked up fetish imaginable, there's someone else out there just waiting to join in on the fun.

I think my point is that I'm horrible at art and just spent a few minutes thinking about boobs while writing a topic.

I invite more informed opinions.

Seriously why do people ask me about art.

Draw a girl. Look at something you find sexy(women) and then compare. Put to use your observations in your next drawing. What does your drawing/way of drawing women lack? Compare again. Rinse and repeat.

Pretty much what Coryn and Ryan have already said.

Get a good grasp on anatomy and work your way up from there. Study your favorite artist(s) and apply what you see to your own drawings. Pay close attention to where and how things curve while making sure to keep proportions in check.

Download the "How To Draw Manga: Drawing Females" book, that along with basic anatomy understanding should give you enough information to get started on the right path.

And remember: Boobs, a nice bottom and beautiful curves are very pleasing to the eyes, but don't let them define your character.

Now if you'll excuse me,  I have an urge to draw boobs that much be sated.  :3

Welcome to the internet, you must be new here.

We're not supposed to do nudity, it's under a spoiler and it's not exactly graphic though so I'm refraining from deleting it. This is after all a topic about drawing sexy women. So keep that in mind. Sexiness =/= graphic

NSFW means not safe for work

I think sexiness is in the mystery, a girl doesnt have to be completely naked to make us drool over her, so i agree with what Chelleka said, about curves and boobs
Here's my attempt, sorry for the sketchiness, this literally took 4 minutes  :push:

We were told to draw our own interpretation of Sexy. I did that.
God, that's why i wrote NSFW and Put it in a spoiler. I find nakedness hot, therefore started drawing that.

Nice drawing DBN

i dunno if what i drew tackles the topic at hand.. But well, beauty of a woman is not in her body but in her eyes and feint smiles. I'm really attracted with girls with those traits, beautiful eyes and smile :)
