Katakuri is the male version (inspired by or pays homage to) Kuchisake-onna. Here is the wiki link: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuchisake-onna You'll quickly notice some similarities. Anyways I love this part of Katakuri's character. Kuchisake-onna's story was a childhood story of mine and has impacted me deeply.

I cannot understand why has Oda done this to Katakuri...

Lel I know what you mean and usually it wouldn't concern me, but wow did I lose respect for him instantly. It's just so Oda to not care a bit about image. I mean for me to read OP in the first place I had to get used to some pretty crazy  designs, let alone insane character expressions and moments haha...

But damn he's strong. It's a bit much

Finally Carrot is doing something amazing,
She seemed much more impressive than Sanji speedblitzing Oven, she was just against the weak members but, still, it felt much more impressive.

They, Daifuku and his men, pointed out that Carrot had transformed into the "minks true form", they also looked defeated just by it, does that mean that Big Mom couldn't conquer the Minks and they are aknowledging that they are stronger than one of the top brass of her crew? I would not bet on that but, it is interesting that they feared her and couldn't rival her speed.

Was it stated that there was a limit to the power that Carrot is using? (I would suggest that it would work as long as the full moon is here.)


Dogtooth isn't just letting the strikes of Luffy passing through anymore but, he is dodging them instead, has he used too much of his haki?

Big Mom is a beast, and Luffy is getting whooped, although he has his ridiculous durability as always. To be honest all I want is for Big Mom to eat that cake dammit. At this point I don't care if she calms down after eating it, after chapters and chapters of the cake being hyped it deserves to be eaten!

Buuut of course, there's a break.

This entire arc has been very iffy to me. If we're looking at this latest chapter it's pretty flea  that Oda needed to write himself out of a corner. It would've been easy to set katakuri up as the honorable warrior cliche but, Oda introduced this character trait out of the blue. I'm pretty disappointed with this fight and a lot of the whole cake arc.

Oh I actually loved that bit of epicness personally. It was what the fight needed. Luffy is really being put through the grinder, but it's great to see him truly leveling up to beast-like levels in this fight. To be honest only Sanji and Zoro have impressed me with their feats. One learnt to walk on air, can kick faster than normal human eyes can see and Zoro. My word Zoro.



Nuff said.


I wonder what this Snake Mode is. I expect something thoroughly stupid but strong.

Oda is the god of hype. This last chapter has me anticipating me so much. Kaido vs Big Mom? Luffy's going straight to the country of yet another Yonko that wants his head? Shanks meeting with the damn Gorosei??? And to top it all off a Celestial Dragon that isn't mad with power. This arc has not disappointed yet and the best part is the Revolutionaries still haven't made their move.

Keep thinking Sabo is going to cause a scene in the next few chapters by sitting on the throne and officially declaring war on the celestial dragons.

Recent chapters Oda showed the world that Luffy is not the "always win protagonist" that everyone is assuming is.

Plus it showed us that the end-game of One Piece is nothing comparing from what we are seeing now!

For example how much stronger the Yonkous are from Luffy?

For god sake he used all his power against Big Mama and with just a piece of her arm above the elbow she knocked him out cold.

Kaido just Insta K.Oed him in a single shot without breaking a sweat.

I really love where it's going now!
