Bleach and filler?
« on: October 28, 2012, 10:09:41 AM »
Hey everyone. So basically I decided to start watching Bleach as I love samurai anime and manga.

Whats annoying me though is the amount of filler in it. I understand they want to get more out of each episode but it kinda gets on my nerves lol.

Anyone else feel the same?

To be quite honest, I don't watch Bleach at all, but I know that every large anime like Bleach, Naruto, One Piece (to a certain extent) have a huge amount of fillers, so apparently it's part of the great formula to become a popular anime.

Fillers aren't completely useless either, they usually have some content on one of the (newer) characters, so the audience can get to know them better. I agree though, it gets on your skin after a while.

Bleach's fillers were handled the worst i think, but i can smell all of them from far. The only shounen anime where i didn't spot the fillers for what they were was D Gray Man.

But at least the later Bleach fillers, before it was cancelled were pretty good.

yeh. bleach actually had some decent filler, which......my ears....are bleeding....I don't think i should ever utter that sentence again....

long story short: read the manga, then skip all anime episodes that aren't canon.

Indeed. Like I'm a big fan of fairy Tail and I loved D-Grayman. I like the way they handle the filler in fairy Tail.

Im around episode 206 on bleach. What annoys me the most is that there in Hueco Mundo one minute and back in the real world with Lurichiyo the next on a completely different storyline. Where as in at least in Fairy Tail the filler wacky n' all as it gets at least keeps a fairly linear story line. Thats my opinion anyway

yeh. i know the feeling. I'm planning to collect the whole of bleach at some point. been buying it a volume at a time for 3 years now. up to 10. plus 28. there's a store called hastings that deals with basically all entertainment needs. from books to cds to boardgames. but they have lots of used stuff. so everyonce in a while. bam. 4 dollar bleach manga.

Ya in my local City there isnt a dedicated store that sells manga but rather stores taht dabble here and there. There is one comic book story but damn they charge an arm and a leg for the manga.

I wonder are the prices of Manga similar in Japan itself or cheaper? :S

Ya abra skip the fillers done terribly and play little to know part in the actual story! Great anime otherwise.

And good question not counting different currency's im sure the prices are pretty average for big time sellers like: Bleach,OP,Naruto,D-Grayman, and other big names!

The ones that are cheap I think are usually starting mangas, but I mean there is soo much manga out there!!! Its just alot of it is only local to Japan very few make it across seas. So once you go to Japan I'm sure your going to hear about a bunch of manga that you have never known even existed lol!

i prefer filler arcs to filler episodes, the single episodes feel like a waste of time whereas if its an arc at least its like a longer story. either way its filler and its kinda annoying.
i agree with the lots of people out there read the manga or just watch the actual story eps; skip the fillers.
i buy most my manga like from ebay, pretty decent prices most of the time especially for sets of books.

in all my time buying off ebay, i have only had one thing that didnt arrive which was a £3 manga (which i got refunded for). i have spent hundreds of pounds over the years and i find ebay quite reliable. you can also check sellers history to see if otehr people have recieved what they bought from them, some people on ebay are actually shops so they have 1,000s of customers so you can be sure of their reliability.
i havnt yet sold anything on ebay but a lot of sellers have a policy they dont ship until its paid for. makes sense :P
