Tip: Boys Hands should be as large as the head or just a bit smaller. Girls are have smaller hands to give a cuter look.

It's pretty cool. So that guy thinks he's a girl?

Good tip. Been practicing girls way too much I reckon. The idea of it is to have two sides of the mind, one being more emotional than logical (female side) and the other being more logical than emotional (male side). The gender difference, for the most part, is so I can get better practice with both male and female characters - and, it should add comedic effect later... Or, that's what I'm hoping at least.

I love the eyes, but they look more shoujo, you're right. Death Note's characters have scary/ serious-looking eyes, maybe you should look at those eyes.  :D

Holy moly. Slammin' idea. I'll be referencing them immediately!

I have so much to learn as an artist it is almost infuriating. ... But exciting.

I agree with your last statement bro :) frustrating when things don't turn out the way you intended, yet exciting as you see yourself progressing and eventually conquering that obstacle :)
As for the image, I find that your arms seem a little too long. My rule of thumb is one head long. Works for me :) Also your character's left elbow is wayyyy to low :P Also you could use some practice drawing creases on the shirt, like me, haha.
Good work, hope to see more :D

Haven't been drawing a whole lot lately. Shame on me!

Needless to say, I took a step back from my regular attempts at realistic / realistic-perfect manga styles and body structures and decided to do a little... different one. Not sure what to really call it, but it works. Watched Clannad a while back, and if I were to watch it today, I'd probably feel the same way.

Added a splash of color to the photo, not my best work, but at least its original. Comments, criticisms, and critiques are always welcome!

Unfortunately, due to some color and technical issues switching between SAI and Photoshop, I could not get letters on the shirt like I had hoped, and thus there is a big... blank space there. Oh well. Enjoy!

When you draw characters with large heads and small bodies, with marshmallows for hands and legs, its called chibi or SD(super-deformed) :)

Lol, like the smooth lines. I'm no longer decieved by innocent looking characters though... after Higurashi and Madoka Magiaca i'm a bit cured of that >...>

I need a little bit of input: Would it be appreciated by you folks to make a "How to Copy-Draw" tutorial / tips-and-tricks? I at least take some pride in my copy-drawing skills and might be able to add a useful thread to the pile. It would be aimed at those who have some to little experience with copy-drawing along with a few pointers and tips for experienced drawers.

And speaking of copy-drawing, this a recent one of Konpaku Youmu from Touhou. Enjoy!

It'd be better if you made a how to copy and understand tutorial. Show the process of indicating form in the under-drawing in order to get a better understanding of the subject and an even better result at the end  ;).
I'm sure a tutorial like that would be appreciated around here.

Nexuun sent over his anatomy reference to me as well, so we both drew the same thing.

I simplified a few parts (such as the face) and kept the abs as a rough for sake of time. Enjoy.

Learning to sketch. Stepping back from copy-drawing and attempting to produce some original artwork in the very-near future. --- But first, need to obtain a general gist of everything, and as the first step, we sketch. Anything, everything. I will not post every sketch, but this is just some of the work I'll be performing.
