That's quite a lot of links Nexuun. Interesting that you added lordz there. He deserves to be. I'll hunt through the links whenever i need to. Any chance you have something on drawing backgrounds?

Well most of my background stuff I have is from books. There really aren't any good background tutorials on the web.

How to Draw Manga: Compiling Techniques, Ernest R. Norling - Perspective Made Easy, How to Draw Manga: Putting things in Perspective. Putting things in Perspective has the most information on drawing backgrounds, it's pretty much dedicated to backgrounds so. Most of the how to draw manga books that I have have some sort of section on backgrounds in them(unless it's a specific topic for the book like anatomy). The how to draw manga books that talk about pen and tone techniques also go over backgrounds a bit, too.

Drawing backgrounds is as equally complex as drawing characters, so you need to read books about it to understand how to do it well  ;). That's my recommendation to you. Look at the eddisekiguchi blog and you'll be able to find all the books I was talking about earlier.

And about lordz, his stuff is really inspirational, especially his diary stuff :P.
