thanks, you think so huh?
shame it's also one of my least original....
nice canyon thing, the white areas look like snow for some reason.

Day 42: haven't woken up properly couldn't get myself together for this one.
to be fair I'm not aiming for quality in this project, I'm letting a lot of stuff slip through the quality control net that I could have fixed with time.

Amazing! This thread really livened up with all the art that's coming in! I'm quite pleased with how you all are taking the effort to stay consistent, and even explore different topics while you're at it. I know for myself it can be monotonous hammering out things over and over, but when you're passionate about something, consistency is the one and surefire way to get better. And most assuredly as you get better, things become more fun when you're not struggling as much.

@suuper: it is snow! it's not really a canyon but a mountain of some sort, i just had canyon ref for rock inspiration
a lot of the time this is the only drawing i do for the day, so yeah overall we have pretty different intentions we come to for doing sketch survival.

day 39: did a drawing of this photo i took in my house a long time ago

epic then your rendering was on point!!

awesome bug, I've never seen a preying mantis in the wild yet :/
love the hatching on the book, definitely could be a manga style.

Day 43: had a couple of bad days but re-stabilizing quickly, hopefully that quick recovery will keep up long term.
quite happy with this one but lately the faces aren't going how I want...

Day 45: trying out new brush settings for a sketch style. not sure if the settings are wrong or it's just my pen control isn't enough to use it properly...
doesnt help that the sketch is <1000px resolution. I'm slowly upping most of my projects to use higher resolution as that often looks better without any effort.

yeah resolution is a finicky thing. a brush usually has its preferred amount of resolution that it wants to be worked at.
gonna be taking a break from sketch survival for a bit, got to refocus on other stuff rn.

@Suuper It's the weeks of practice paying off. When you draw the same figure every day for a year, then it becomes second nature, just as any profession goes  8)

Of course, be sure to supplement your training with lessons and techniques. Theory comes with practice after all!  8)

I'm definitely liking that you've started working on different body types as well. Keep at it!

Migth as well join, just a Q.

Lets say i have a long week of work coming or a busy day/emergency, can i draw a few and save them for those emergencies or draw 7 a day and post them progressively?

@suuper i think your art is very complete even in low detail mode. Looking back at your first post in your gallery topic makes me wonder how my art will look 10+ years from now.

Thanks! If you draw every day and for several hours a day then you'll easily surpass my level in just a few years! I've taken it far too slow XD

As for your question the general idea is to draw every day, saving up sketches in advance would be the same as posting "old work"
For actual emergencies or illness you get a pass for the days you can't do it, but for just a busy day I don't think you'd get a pass for that. I mean I had a hella busy day yesterday I was out of the house 6am to 9pm and I still posted something even though the quality was low. So even a 5 minute sketch is ok :D

Otherwise I could just draw 1000 sketches in a week and not have to draw for a few years while I still post every day XD

Makes total sense.

Will start posting tomorrow, today is my day off work and hobbies, trying to get some quality sleep Z _ Z

I think even if it's a low-quality post, it's totally fine for the sake of practice. The idea is to build a habit, so you know precisely how things should turn out. Habits take up to a month to build up, so it's no easy feat to do so. But once you cross that threshold, it becomes more natural to do. Just be careful you don't become complacent and let one day of break turn into one week! Make a commitment and stick to a schedule. You're the boss of your own project  ;)
