NaNoWriMo
« on: October 31, 2011, 11:03:52 AM »
National Novel Writing Month starts tomorrow! Who's all participating? and if you are post a synopsis of your story. i'm interested to see what my fellow raiders are putting out there!

It's untitled so far. But yeah. this is the basic plot so far.

Mankind always worried that their technology would one day rise up against them, and in turn destroy them. Most threw this notion to the side as an pointless fear. Little more than paranoia. But it turns out they should have listened to the doomsayers. But this isn't the story of how the human race fights for its very existence against hordes of robots. That story happened a long time ago. Humanity has been extinct for nearly 500 years, their mechanical creations having long ago wrestled away control of the earth. But due to an integral part of their programming, placed there by their creators to help create a more human robot, the machines now find that their only hope for salvation lies in a nearly impossible task: Recreating the human race, which they themselves wiped out centuries ago.

I quit! Your story sounds awesome! And even more awesome, is you being in NaNoWriMo as well. Have you arleady started? It's a few hours till i begin mine!

This is so awesome to see! You joining in and all. What an epic sounding story. I have two in my head so it's really painful, but i settled with one i had more ideas for.

In the year 2008 on some Earth, an undersea eruption releases orb shaped parasites to the water surface. And then began a legend that culminated in the destruction of the world.
The parasites habitually bonded to human hosts, feeding off them and yet in return giving them superhuman abilities and giving them immunity to disease of all sorts, and they were spread across the face of the earth in all walks of life, from military to the regular school boy. They seem to need nothing apart from a human host. This is what humanity thinks, but they will be proven wrong...

your story sounds interesting too though! more manga-ish for sure. shooting for a more realism thing with mine.

Yeah i noticed. I feel a bit ashamed of that though. But meh, hope it works

I too am just doing it for fun. No crazy type rush from me. If it gets annoying i'll drop out for sure. I'll definately be interested in seeing yours though. Interesting aspect of the badguys having already won and all that. Hehe, i hope mine can tug some heartstrings too.

that's one of the things though. i don't really want to portray the robits as bad guys. though i guess that will make more sense once there is actually story to look.

Ah i see. Well care to share your username so that i can take a gander once in a while at your work?

Well all i can say is: 2.6K words! That's my first session. Restraining myself from going back and editing is a bit hard, but i'm keeping with the proposed rules. Hope it works out.

5428 words. That's enough for me today. Need to get 5000 words for the next 6 days and then i'll feel safer. It's an interesting experience, and i know for sure i'll crash the story if i go back editing. I think the rules are there for my own good. One thing is for sure though, outlines can save you a lot of grief!

Ah i see. Well that's still awesome for you. Really can't believe 2011 has gone down the drain in terms of academics. Dunno how i'll even start when college starts. I'm so stuck in this mood right now.

Gah, the mindfreeze, i better hang around the forums more and chat with people. Starting to lose the sense of fun with this. I'm happy though. Finally doing something i can look back on and carry around as a proud trophy.

Hehe don't despair by hearing such a measly feat. People have already reached 50K! And the person i was referring to apparently did it by hand. Monsters i tell you.

It's sucking my soul! I can't help but want to finish and get done with it! Anyways, i'm looking forward to that life at sea chapter
