[VOL4]Our MR Anthology Project
« on: August 02, 2011, 09:36:58 AM »

I know our new members might have no idea what's our MRA project. So in short we have started our own Manga Anthology project while ago and already published 2 Manga Artists Anthologies and 1 Manga writers Anthology successfully.

We faced lot of problems specially with printer/publisher guys. First we used Ka-Blam and they were even refused to correct their own printing mistakes. So we had to find another printer, Comixpress. They were better but was taking ages to print the anthology. Support was pretty bad.

Now Anthology 3 haven't sent to publisher because members hadn't formatted their pages correctly so everything have to be reformatted. Also printing guys were not responding to our mails. So the whole project has been halted since then.

Cory and I talked about this yesterday and we both think the project should be continue. I'm sure those who had submitted  their Manga, drawings and stories know how good it feels to have your own art work published not just online but also as a real comic book. But we need couple of volunteers to for share the work load. Like checking pages and see all pages are formatted properly etc. Because Cory alone can't do all the work.

So Post here your ideas and suggestions and also those who can help us.

think i've said it a while ago. but i'll always be around for grammar review. i'm horrible with any image editing though so i'm afraid i can't do much on that front.

Will review stories upon request. My latest arc: http://goo.gl/KYgsfF

Grammar and spell checking is important too. It's good to have someone for that too. Cory and Sayuri will able to do the final editing and  formatting.

Also I think writers need to learn about image editing and getting pages formatting, specially if we are to publish writers anthology again.

yeah i worked on that when we did the first one. though it took forever and wasn't very pretty when i finished.  so i figure i'll leave the main anthology editing to the experts.

I have formated the previous anthologies but for medical reasons, it's now impossible for me to do it anymore.

Hasitha and me are working on the next anthologies projects and we both agreed that each participant will have to format his/her own pages. It is not a complicated task and everybody will be able to do it.

If i have all the guidelines i'm sure i can manage. Word of caution though since my classes are very crazy i could only be around on weekends. But honestly im very zealous for the whole thing (weird word i know) so i'll do my best to make it happen

hopefully the standards for formatting this time will be universal rather than European based... last time i submitted i remember it being rather hectic...

Here's the sample page. It has all instructions written on it.

http://www.comixpress.com/templates/CP_MiniPage_JPG.jpg

It might look big on your monitor screen if you try to open but it's the right size. It will be find when you open it using Photoshop or GIMP.
