105/100 cleaned sketches. I'm still averaging 7.5 minutes for each one, but I've hit a nasty roadblock of sorts. I've noticed that my drawings have a huge amount of slant and lack of symmetricity when I look at the sketch mirrored. I'm quite annoyed and my confidence has taken a bit of a hit, especially as when I flip the drawing back to normal, it still looks right to me when I know it's wrong. Really I want to try and fix that problem first, but I'm hoping I can keep any eye on it as I continue my projects. I'm amending my goal (as planned) to 350 cleaned sketches, which hopefully I'll finish before the end of next month. I'm also going to do more figure sketches to boost anatomy and keep a track of slant issues.

I'm hoping it's more of a level up in awareness than a drop in skill though.

also the decorating is still going on and I have to walk sideways through most of the rooms in the house now so that doesn't help much for stress and time management.
also also I've got an interview for another job, same sort of thing but at another school. I'm thinking I need to do some work, not so much for the money, but to keep me active and interacting with people to keep a shred of normality in my life XD

The flip thing is normal. Just fix it to where it looks okay on both sides. Sometimes the drawing gets slanted because of the way you sit or the angel you looking at the drawing while you drawing.
Accept mistake as part of the process of creating, Probably won't go away soon.

What's the project you want to make?
Are the job related to what you do Drawing/programming?

@keanfox yes I think the way I sit and look at the page is probably the reason (T_T) thanks for the tips, I'll see how I do in the future. For projects, mostly I'd like to make a bunch of coloured illustrations, start advertising for comissions, and do a couple of one-shot mangas. on the side I also want to make a complete game and put that onto the web.

Been doing some sketches and stuff. Nothing worth showing, but felt like making a post nonetheless.
Also I had a glance over my work over the last year and it seems that I've been drawing consistently since May last year, which makes this my longest streak of drawing since a long time. Might also explain the large amounts of progress I've been feeling. Who'dathunkit that work and improvement were related. I'm not drawing in huge bursts as I used to, but much more steadily and regularly. Even when I've posted that I'm having a bad week, I'm still doing something, and getting back on track a lot faster. I'll say it again but really there's lots of aspects of an artist's skill that don't get mentioned much, like attitude to stick with it and avoiding procrastination and stuff, things that I really feel I've been getting the hang of wayyyyy more than my younger self. I suppose that's called maturity or something as well.

Anywho here's a stat update because I feel like talking instead of drawing.
Time spent drawing this year: 140 hours (almost 1 a day)
Pages of sketches this year: 221 (more than 1 a day)
Individual sketches drawn or improved this year: 2517 (15 a day)
Sketches drawn from only a head original: 841
Complete sketches from rough originals: 804
Resolved/cleaned sketches: 188
Linearts drawn: 99

I've been having a moody week, I blame the next door neighbors moving in and using power tools on my wall, as well as my own decorating, which has left my room more of a storage room than a bedroom, so I can't focus on anything.

actually make it out of 365, why not, one for every day of the year. If I then went back and inked them all I'd have enough content for a year of uploads lol. it's secretly my actual goal to have a vast amount of content and trickle upload it while I'm working on other projects.



at this point I'm realizing what I always knew but realizing it all the same, that art has a serious amount of sub skills and the more you learn, the more you realize there is to learn. So I'm wallowing in a bit of self-pity at the moment wondering how I'm ever going to learn enough to be pro with my lazy attitude XD

also despite a complete lack of attention on my side, my DA is getting way more views than it used to a few months ago, although it's still single figures a day.

so much to do , so little time :P
