well yeah it's teh same thing really with the whole 2012 thing. cause in revelations there are bunch of signs listed that we're supposed to look out for. people tend to find a lot of them with each generation but as time goes on it's like we keep finding more and more of them. not to mention a whole slew of prophecies about 2012 from different people across different times who had no way of ever communicating with each other. People are starting to get suspicious of the year. i know the Quran speaks of doomsday as well. though isn't it something more along the lines that it will be revealed through a messenger of some sort? pretty sure i read something like that a long time ago. though i wouldn't go quoting me on that.

but yeah in general there are a lot of signs pointing towards 2012.

Yes it is true there is a lot of sign...but 2012 is being decide by human not god...only god knows when it's gonna end..maybe tomorrow, next month..or next 10 years..why don't you just think the world will end soon insted of when it's GoNna end..I mean..just let the god decide it ^^

According to the scientific community there's no reason to freak out.

It has been pointed that there will be activity on 2012, electromagnetic solar waves to be more specific, these happen all the time though the ones in 2012 will be slightly stronger  and even though these strong ones have happened before around many million years ago, we as a human society have not felt one of that magnitude.
 
Perhaps this is the phenomenon that many saw, specially the Mayas considering how their astronomy skills were so advance, sadly not advanced enough to explain a solar spectrum.

So in short, the world will not end in 2012 according to the trustworthy scientific community, BUT what we could end up having instead is one huge EMP that will toast a huge part of the world's electronics, heck! Even the internet could be down! WORLDWIDE! Now isn't that the end of the World!? NO INTERNET FOR MONTHS!?
