what is the mangaraiders anthology?
The MR anthology is a collective project whose goal is to learn how to make and publish a project. It will include original art and stories created by Mangaraiders.

Who can take part?
All mangaraiders can take part.

How can I join the project?

Will I earn money from the anthology?
You will not earn money from the book selling since it's a non profit project. The price of the book covers the printing cost only.


What kind of stories can be published in the Mangaraiders anthology?
It must be a story you created yourself.
Stories/drawings related to an existing movie/manga/anime/video game etc (fanfiction) aren't accepted.
It must be an original story and universe and PG 13 rating. Nothing nude or hentai!
Maximum 20 pages and only one author note.

What about copyright?
Artists and writers will retain the copyright to their material.
Participating in the anthology only means that you give us the right to publish the content .

Are there files settings to follow?
Your pages must follow those details:
resolution 300 dpi
Format a5 with 1cm borders.
We will post a template once we have met our new printer.

jpeg files only.

It is essential to use the printers template to respect the printers trims and cuts
or else your art may be cut off during the printing process. Please put art in the Live area only!
We won't be held responsible if a badly formated page is either refused by the printer or badly printed.

Which program should I use? Can I draw my pages without pc?
Gimp, Photoshop, Paint...use whatever program you want! You  can also draw your pages naturally with a pen and scan them. In all cases, please follow  our page settings.

Are there page rules to follow?
The text must be justified in every page.
Only font accepted is Comic sans MS size 10 for the manga pages. You can use Times New Roman for your author page.

I have a problem with formating/inking the pages, what must I do?

I have ended my pages. What must I do?
Once a story is ended by its author, it must be send to the Editorial Team which will check the files and confirm them.
The Editorial Team will check grammar mistakes, files settings (resolution, etc etc).
All necessary corrections will be signaled by the Editorial Team to the authors so they can correct their own files.
   
What happens next?
Once all stories are received and confirmed, The Editorial Team will put the anthology together,
by making an Index page and a cover, and by renaming the files.
Once ended, the anthology will be send  to the printer.

I don't want my story to be published anymore in an anthology. What must I do?
The printer asks a fee to remove pages. The fee must be paid by the author initiating the change.

What is the Editorial Team?
The Editorial team is a little group of mangaraiders who control and put together the anthology files.

Can I help them?
You can help the Editorial team by:
sending correct files
and of course by joigning them.

pretty much. it's physically printed like a real manga. much thinner but the same concept.

So what kind of books do they put our manga to? And do they tell us? Is ts some kind of manga magazine or something?

well its a self publication. so it's just our stuff. and it can be ordered from the printer online.

I really think that we should push this idea more.
The idea of having a 20 page max story.
One-shots all the way.
Do you have any idea how much of a success this would be in Mangaraiders?
-to be able to view a huge amount of short but COMPLETE stories instead of unfinished long ones?
This is a realistic and advantageous limit that will only help us improve.

Unfortunately there aren't many who willing to do the last mile when it comes to become a real Manga Artist or writer. Everyone want to be one but when they get a chance to do something real there aren't many who want to take that step.

You are right this is one of those rare chances you get to see your Comics in real book. But you can see there aren't many who willing to do it. This is why I used to recommend people to check or anthologies when someone wants an artist or writers. We have many great writers and artists but not many who really have what u need to become a real life writer or artist. Sad but it's the truth from what have seen for years.

Hasith, I don't really talk much, but I really think this site is awesome and brimming with potential.
I really want to help. I think we, the Mangaraiders community can do this.
20 pages should be doable so I'll start. Hopefully we get something good out of it.
