very appropriate jacket text :P
yep great to see colour and wow not-in-paint(tm)
Although I am biased to layered fancy software, it does look fantastically good.
yes pen pressure is a thing haha I would be crying without it.
I love how you've done the hair, very watercoloury and shoujo manga-esque.
looks like a triple cel-shading on the jeans? that's pretty much how I roll.
looking forward to see what you do next :P

Domo and domo

Well I'll be very sporadic about it. I opened Photoshop and was blessed with the holy cascade of a million possibilities I could do. Oh world of paintings that were open to me, oh the stuff I could do now!

I couldn't even choose a brush without adjusting its hardness and looking for opacity and shape and jumping onto a tutorial. Stresses a man out a little haha. So I think I'll be mspainting for a while longer.

That being said, this took way too long and turned out worse than photoshop so yeh I appreciate the greatness of versatile software.

@Walter B thanks! But Black and White is bae

Meyhl

Necromancer Tale - I drew a short storyboard I did somewhere on the forum. Will dig it up somewhere. I really need to be doing stuff for SLG, Penance and Digital Dragons though.

Spoiler

Spoiler
A necromancer and a knight fell in love - i think. Knight finds out he's a necromancer responsible for an apocalpyse of undead. Dies in attempt to slay him. Necromancer ressurects her out of twisted love. Happy ending for everyone? I think. I really went off on whims for this story.

whenever I start using a new software, I spend ages trying to get the brush to feel like ballpoint lol
at least at the moment, I'm not one of those artists that has hundreds of custom brushes that they use when they draw.

great manga pages, I love the story idea. it would have been good to have some backgrounds in the larger white areas, especially on the second to last page.

yeah that moment when you have more than one project on the go, and you have an hour spare, its like, ahhh which one do I do??????

I like the Meyhl piece though, quite bright colours though which feel a tad unrealistic. the muddy colours you mentioned earlier are good for making things feel a bit more real, as in the real world, all surfaces have bits of shade on them and they aren't at their brightest. the pose is cool and I love the face and hair. I love the blonde hair in particular as it looks golden with the shines :) and good job on the shading.

Yeah backgrounds are the bane of my existence as ye all know.

I've been storyboarding to help in my down time. I really need to storyboard as much as possible so that I can just jump straight to comicking when the time's right. Penance was super hard to get back into - Forgot the characters. SLG was a bit more optimistic but I still haven't even finished a chapter for that. It'll be a while till I recharge all my reserves on that front.

Yeah that was oversaturation nation. I usually watch out for that sort of thing but yeh.

And haha yeah, too many options can make you crazy.

@Walter domo arigatou! Hope it made sense.

the background quality goes sequentially from awesome to nonexistent in those pieces lol
first two are awesome with the full backgrounds, especially with a detailed character in the first one as well, there's lot of questions like "who is he", "where is he" and stuff so it's engaging..
great how you thumbnail planned them all first, and you got the pieces looking very much like the thumbnail.
the armor guy one, he probably needs to be more rotated to match the skewed horizon line, other than that no qualms here.

Armour guy screwed me over I had no idea how to fix him haha.

And yeaup. I slowly got fed up down the line, but I liked working with thumbnails. Really helpful stuff in lightening the mental load.

I like the shapes in the second picture. Gives the feeling of something unique.
How much time did it take to do the full picture compared to the thumbnail?
No one is perfect . . . that's why there's erasers and extra paper.

20 minutes at most. To be honest it was my bad line discipline rather than the difficulty of interpreting the image that made me so slow at drawing it.

For second pic I was inspired by Trigun... You ever watched it?

I can't tell if he looks more like an atomic explosion or a funky mushroom, haha. I'd imagine taking a shower would kinda suck with that much hair...
