Translating 3D into 2D On paper: Can anyone help please?
« on: December 30, 2009, 11:14:40 AM »
Im using a wooden artist's mannequin for this pose. So far this handy little mannequin has been very helpful in drawing other poses. But I cannot seem to draw things from slight or whole angles. This is a reference as close to the pose I want to draw:,proposing%20marriage.gif

But, I want to draw it in a way that would be facing directly at you in a very slight bird's eye angle. I got very frustrated because if I tried to draw the hands, they would look too "attached" to the body. When I tried drawing the body, it didnt look like it was behind the arms. Basically, when I tried drawing the hands and arms, it didnt look like it was "coming off" of the paper like it was supposed to.

I've drawn other poses and so far so good.

What can I do?
