A Gift One shot

A wordless comic for the Silent Manga Audition. I didn't do very well, my paneling is still pretty bland and some of my angles arent so hot. If I had one more day I could have concluded this better. the flow of the last 3 pages is off. If I had a week left I could have stuck to my original ending, which was much better than this even though they're mostly the same. Its just the extra details that would have worked out better. Have a look if you like.

EDIT: Embed isn't working...fixing now.

There, fixed.

Since you were working under constraints though, I think you did a good job! The characters are all very fun to look at, and you can definitely get the gist of it all.

We are so rarely satisfied with our final products, and even though you didn't smash the competition, just having competed is a success! Good job for getting out there!

I think it turned out pretty good and quite close to how you described it previously. Good job!
You have an interesting art style with the big eyes, sort of creepy in a Tim Burton good way :P

And yeah it's hard to get things to go to plan, I've had my fair share of not hitting deadlines with my own manga.
All in all I think it's a solid piece of work. You can always redraw the ending in your own time just to get the finished product you wanted.

If I had 1 extra day the pacing on the last 3 pages would have been better, if I had 1 more week I could have ended this the way I wanted and kept a little more of the meat of the idea O.o;

Was my first successful manga I've made. I finished it and got it in on time, even though I got left in the dust. Was blown away by the artwork some of the other folks did.

with more experience you can plan better and also work quicker to be able to get the project done as you imagine it, in the time available. But even with a changed ending, I think you should be proud, especially if it's the first manga you've done! It's a lot better than my first one :P

yeah there's always massively pro individuals out there, I try not to look ahahaha

Yeah. It's a classic trope, but no matter how good you become, you're always going to see work by others and feel that they're better than you. It's the artist's curse, lol.

I'm very impressed, and congratulations on the successful submission. I rather enjoy the art style: quite strikingly distinct and also somewhat cute, with a fair amount of personality coming through. It sounds like you learned quite a lot, which is great :)
