Blight of Aurous
Prologue
Narrated by Moon-Moon

The Kingdom of Aurous has three neighboring super-powers: Lythea, Kuoshu and Zara'Ldum; and the Pharaoh has managed to piss off every single one of them. A threat of the Lythean horde attacking from the north pales in comparison to a break in supply of grains from Kuoshu. General Simon meets in secret with the Master of Shadows, the head of intelligence organization of Aurous. Will they be able to pull off a miracle and save the day? Thinking outside the box might not be enough... The box shouldn't even be a part of the conversation. Leave the box at home, Simon. For the sake of your people.
Okay, that's enough of Moon-Moon's narrative for one day. I can only handle that guy in small doses. Let's go see what Simon and the Master of Shadows have in mind.

Enjoy first chapter and fill free to criticize.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to read the first chapter of our brand-spanking-new comic, Blight of Aurous. This is a first step in a much bigger universe that we want to release into the world. As you might have guessed, this is not the work of one indivudual, but rather a group of friends with a variety of talents. We are, by no means, professional writers or artists. We just have imagination that could no longer be contained.
We will be posting chapters of our comic here for everyone to enjoy and discuss. Please feel free to criticize us on any of the aspects like art, storytelling, transitions, pacing etc, we appreciate any and all feedback. We'd love to hear everyone's thoughts!

welcome to the forum!

that's a very professional looking manga!

I don't have much to critique, the art quality is almost perfect. Just the hands sometimes have poor proportions, such as when holding the sake cup.
For the introduction of the ninja in the 2nd chapter, I feel it would better to not see them at all until the sword has been knocked out of his hand, because it is a surprise introduction. it would be also good to show the surprise as the sword is knocked out of his hand, his face is out of shot in that panel.
when the boys step on the girls arm, I think the floor texture should have been drawn otherwise it looks like they are kicking her arm in the air.
The poses and expressions sometimes feel a little stiff on occasion, but that's a very tiny issue.
The lighting and shading is done very well, the night shots were really nicely done.
Also very good BG, lots of detail. I assume some of that is with 3d software?

how big is your team?
How long does it take to produce a chapter?

great stuff and would love to read more!

Thank you taking the time to provide your analysis of our work.  We are thrilled to hear that you like it! Our artists appreciates the feedback so that we can implement changes for future chapters. Currently we have 2 writers and 2 artists. We are currently seeking another artist to add to our team. If you know somebody who might be interested in joining a start up, please feel free to recommend.

For some of the scenes our artist used Blender, your are correct. (Good eye 😄)

It takes about two and half week to draw a chapter. The story took us about 6 month of writing and rewriting 😂 and fine tuning it to be fit for a comic. At the moment it takes about one week to finalize a chapters dialogue.

We will be uploading the third chapter soon. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

Great work so far! There is some really effective use of shadow that I would love to see more of, and the story this far is pretty fun. And I must say, you've got some fantastic facial hair going on with these characters, lol. The designs pop off the page, and are very recognizable. It's an important quality that often gets overlooked, so props to your character designer!

How many people are on the project?

Will review stories upon request. My latest arc: http://goo.gl/KYgsfF
