7 & 9 August 2020: Spent about 3 hours total editing and cutting Chapter 5 down. Even so, I only got it down to 2400 words... Anyways, I think it's in a pretty final state now. Will focus on moving forward.

August 5-6: Worked on rewriting Chapter 16 of CL. It was giving me trouble before, so I tried to changed its focus. I think it's a little better now. Just scrapping most of the chapter and rewriting it helped me to look at it more clearly.

August 9: Wrote some CL side story material for fun! I write them in pencil. With these, I don't worry about plot and write whatever. Relaxing in its own way.

August 6th: Squeezed in a few chapters of CS, but that was the extent of it. Was unable to write over the weekend, but all progress is forward progress! I can at least sorta see the end of this monster chapter I have built for myself.

August 16th: Wrote for a few hours on CS and got 1070 words in, but had to stop when one of my laptop keys came off. Need to attempt to replace it, but I'm not convinced it won't just pop off again. The button below is still usable, but let me tell you it's a pain in the ass to write when you have to stop and think every time you want to type an "s".

Going to investigate just getting a cheap Chromebook or something. Let me return to the days of yore when I had a small and comfortable laptop that could actually be used on a lap. When all you do is write and browse the internet, what good is a giant gaming laptop anyway?

August 23rd: I can't say I'm feeling it much today, but I pushed out 1560 words regardless for a total of two pages. This chapter of CS is going to need a solid edit job once I'm done with it, but come hell or high water I will wrap it up next weekend. It's not going to be as long as I had originally planned for, but in this case I think that's on me. I've been stuck on this single chapter for so long (thanks in many parts thanks to War Arc) that it's grown almost into two separate chapters in my head. Given it's total length, maybe that's how it will get broken out in the end? Thematically it is kinda like two shorter chapters, but I don't know. I've never considered consistent chapter length as being a thing before, but some consistency is probably something to strive for.

In any case, if you're reading this in hopes of hearing news about CS, then congrats! You got a new chapter coming in two weeks!

August 30th: 2562 words today, and a "finished" chapter! I definitely need to go through and edit and make some adjustments and maybe add a paragraph or two, but I'm pretty happy with today's output. It will be very nice to put out some more writing on my own personal story after so long of concentrating on other projects. It's not that I am disappointed in myself for working on War Arc and Cyberpunk all this time instead of my mainstay, but it definitely brings to light just how much time I'm spending on projects that aren't Coryn's Saga. Those other projects are certainly fun, but I need to be banking my creative energies on the story that I came to this forum to tell in the first place! Oh if I could only go back in time to tell my younger self what a doozy he was in for!

September 6th (And the week previous): I continue to write these logs by myself it seems, or maybe I'm just currently the most productive one here. Time will tell  :noidea:

Wrapped up editing on my latest Coryn's Saga chapter. I'm very happy to finally be posting it. This one was quite the task, and all the War Arc I've written in the meantime really did a number on my output for personal stories. I'm looking forward to wrapping up War Arc this fall and finally being able to pay attention full time to my own stuff again. Not that War Arc hasn't been a great and enlightening experience, but c'mon. You gotta make time for yourself.

Minor update: Finding it extra difficult to procure new cheap laptop for writing purposes during a pandemic. Go figure that such a thing would make going around and typing on random computers at the store to find a keyboard you like hard.

7 September 2020: (+1 previous afternoon in the past week that I can't quite remember the date of...) 800 words over probably a total of 5 or so hours. A bit slow, but I did have to listen over the couple episodes of "Welcome to MangaRaiders" as research (and I highly recommend that everyone goes and digs up those recordings to listen to too!). I also experienced a bit of a speedbump in discovery writing, whereby I knew where I wanted the story to get to by the end, but I had no idea about any of the events that would happen leading up to it... I usually like to know a string of plot points in advance of writing, so that I can just do a bit of connect the dots, but this time the page was completely blank... luckily it's full now!

13 September 2020: 500 words to round out the draft of my last MR War Arc: NO1SY chapter. Took me roughly 2 hours. Really struggled to find the right story for this one, but got there in the end I think. Also had to draw out a battlemap of my fight scene to work out the choreography, which was probably a bit extra...

Snacks and drinks are an important part of the writing process! What is better than a quiet rainy day with nothing else to do but write and snack?

Not that I've had one of those since college (being an adult has a lot of busywork!) But still.

16 & 25-26 September 2020: This month's been rough on writing inspiration. :( I've been writing in mini spurts. A little scene here and there. But I was able to write/type while sitting in the waiting rooms both at the dental and chiropractic clinics (a peaceful hour and a half there). I find flow wise, I can get a good amount out when doing it from my phone. Just me and google docs. Funny stuff.

With a chunk of material down, I spent the wee hours of the following night filling in the rest and touching it up. Working on my laptop helps to see the bigger picture (no pun intended) and descriptions.

I'm actually behind my personal schedule by a chapter  I'd really like to do more than a chapter a month.  :sadbye: Motivation why.

21 & 27 September 2020: Total of 1119 words to finish of the MR War Arc: NO1SY project. I think it was roughly 5 hours total, but this included some "research" time (re-reading MR Sentai Go! about 5 times, as well as Lego's War Arc Stories and then listening to Super Sentai soundtracks...).

Would have liked to get more done in one go or on consecutive days, but I wanted to finish off a review that I felt was long past due, which ended up taking priority.

Going to take a momentary pause from writing to focus on a couple more reviews, then, once I've settled into the PhD a bit, I'll see what writing I can manage.
