Currently on chapter 20 I believe, tbh I'm tired of the far overdone zero-hero w/ romance interest story, big part of why I shifted to seinen (particularly seinen psychologicals, but that's for another convo) but this started off so strong!
I know it's a webcomic and not manga but I know some guys here will have read it!

Yeah, I'm caught up. I even read a little bit ahead with the webnovel.

The art is really top-notch and pretty enjoyable in itself. I'm looking forward to where the story goes, too.

I got quite obsessed reading it, when i got to the last chapter i started reading the novel, i heard about how the story ends and... Well the end is
Spoiler
not the best ending ever, but
its definitely worth reading it all the way trought, the actual chapters of the webcomic (102) are in one of the most memorable arcs of the novel.

I am not following the novel anymore, just the comics, i dont want to spoil myself.

The story is really amazing, the idea of turning our world into an rpg is fantastic and the character although its weak in the start and became op later on, doenst became selfish or edgy (like many other characters in novel), and it makes him really likeable, the kind of hero you say "i hope jin woo, comes soon and saves those people".

It's takes willpower not to open that spoiler bar, moon! Don't do this to me lmao

I understand, it is one of the things that have pulled me toward him in that he very much is still him - he does evolve and develop, in that he becomes hardened - but he is still him if that makes sense.

OH yessss I'm definitely reading this. It's awesome. I think Korean webnovels have mastered the art of the 'leveling up noob character who becomes overpowered.' I never get tired of it! Isekai also has a lot of wins, but korean webtoons are consistently more satisfying than Isekai that I see.

I keep on hearing that the webnovel ended weekly though. That's wack haha

Finished read this recently, was a pretty cool ending although not too sure how I liked certain aspects of it, but I think writing an ending that makes all your readers happy will always be a tough one, as people like different endings separately to how they like different genres.

Overall the action was cool the the MC becoming OP was done in a believable manner, although the story soon reached a point where he was "already OP", but made him more OP just for fun. But it was still tolerable, things still seemed like a challenge for the MC and the story was gripping enough with other characters getting some good screen-time too.

In other places it has been mentioned quite clearly that "solo" levelling ultimately didn't happen too much, like "solo" implies being alone, and so that was the only part that felt strange, but overall it was just him doing the levelling, so in that sense the title wasn't wrong.

Ultimately I judge a manga on if I will read it again, and I definitely will, so this is going into my favourites for sure.
Probably an 8/10, not any higher because of the repetitive nature of the story and lack of variety in the plot, which seemed to loop in a shounen style with every increasing stakes which were ultimately easily beaten. Which isn't bad in itself, but limits the maximum rating I could give compared to a show that did all the above and more. The MC didn't seem to have much of a character growth except right at the beginning, and then stayed the same for the rest of the story.

Also from what I understand this was made by just one person? I've heard that several times mentioned, maybe it's true or not, but if it's true then that gives us artists hope that we can make something without needing tons of assistants and editors XD

Yeah I would've liked a bit more drawn out battles during the ending but it was a solid read. Shame that the author passed away, fantastic work and effort. It was one person with a team I think, but he was the mind and muscle

Do you know God of Highschool perchance? It's also completed and definitely a recommend. Long read as of now though so prepare to dive hahaha

I really love how polished manhua looks, and all in colour like daaaamn. Just, props

the author died??????
whaaaaaaaaa....
RIP

yup I'm reading God of Highschool, although it's not too gripping in terms of story. I made it through the first main tournament arc and then kinda got lost in the following mayhem, a bit too much happened all in one go and I couldn't keep up. But it's quite interesting all the same. there's quite a few manhua that I'm reading actually, mostly isekai or fantasy vibe that are quite good, but almost all of them seem to lose my interest around the halfway mark for some reason. Like they suddenly lose their unique flavour.

Yeah the colour is certainly a lovely aspect to manhua, although often they lose the texture of black and white manga as a compromise. I mean actual textures like hatching and so on which give manga that sort of traditional feel.
