well im kinda more in narrative drawing, so i need to draw one thing in several thing and keep them look alike of sorts...

i dont know how do you use grid on that.

you have a reference 1, and then scene A to Z.

as for using basic shapes, sure, i've practiced quite alot, and...idk, is my hand that weird?
how do you even get, the portion RIGHT?

especially stupid thing like a curve.

that's uber crazy.

Like this image below
from pose 1 to pose 2 then,
how do they keep the thing proportional again?

definitely ruler it, one by one right?

otherwise theyd need to use action figure.
and even with action figure...how do you make it precise?

Those character sheets are extremely simple. You just need to draw a straight line from chin to chin, waist to waist, feet to feet. It will make more sense when you start drawing.

Example

it's simple yeah?

how  do you chin to chin, cheek to cheek?
Can you show? i dont think i have seen any like tis.

precisely too. on size....because too much deviation and itll look different.

and if it fits, maybe base it on figures like this? because it has actual length and size and volume ya no

i am just trying to make each stroke meaningful so...itd be amazing if you know what to limit and define.
i dont think i have done enough reading over the net either...like using grid or so, if you please show me maybe thatd help alot

or like this one below where the stuff on the right makes for the the image on the left

Like, how 3d actually define the model
or otherwise, how to draw/build the image

i mean..
this change is kinda unacceptable... and i kinda prefer the latest version better, especialy the last panel.

but obviously what's most important is to keep the drawing, oncharacter all the time...
sure with ruler but i dont even kno from where to where lol

To understand how to draw manga faces, it's often helpful to understand how to draw real faces.
Try copying real faces (just google image artists face reference/face photo etc) to learn how the structure of the face works. Then you can apply your knowledge to simplified styles such as manga.

plus over several years an artsts style will change/improve so those changes you point out are almost unavoidable. From what I remember of bleach, the first faces are the earlier chapters, and the second faces are the later chapters?

ah ok then....how do you even plan an epic manga?

do you prepare all the stuffs before hand???

all the environment and places and locations and characters?

and then you just, draw all of them panel to panel??

is it even possible to plan likeness?

You start by learning how to plan a simple short story, like a one-shot manga, and then try drawing it.
Then you take what you have learned and produce a better one, and then a better one, learning how to improve your work as you go, and then you have the skill base for your epic manga. that's my plan at any rate :P

I mean, y'know, little of column A, a little of column B. It's impossible to have everything planned out from the get-go (which is why long stories will have their weird arcs that don't fit in). But on the other hand, it's impossible not to have at least some sort of framework develop as your work on a story.  I've known how my own epic ends from the very beginning (nearly), bit a lot of the middle is just stuff that came up on the fly. It's always going to be a mix of both.

Ah oh cool...then how do you make the good chapters, or a panel?

How do you put around the good stuffs to make a scene?
do you rely on the script?
if so, how does the script make for the good scene

I mean so much of it just comes down to personal taste and experience. Good story telling is intangible. If it wasn't then everyone would do it. You have to learn by looking at things you do enjoy, and then reflecting on your own work and asking why is doesn't work here or does work there. In the end there are no magical solutions to it.

I guess the big thing is to actually have something created first. We create rough drafts for a reason. You can sit around theorizing all day long, but actually getting into it, creating a product, even if it's bad, will give you a path forward on how to make it good. Always start by actually making something. Worry about whether it's good or not afterwards.

well, to start with i got nothing to theorize. i dont even know the magic word for it.

or how should the magical solution be about.

just Poof?

guess i am looking for the mechanical steps to, maximize it?
i mean..maximizing also dont come straight away i guess...like action figures without stands back in 80s or statues without stands. or statues. or statuses. lol

what about this rough draft then?
what's in rough draft should be?

i could spend all day sketching and not understanding what's the rough draft is about btw.
pardon my stupid, it has lasted for decades now.

There's no Poof about it, it's hard work and effort over time.
It's impossible to learn to draw without actually spending time and drawing.

That might be true, but the opposite is absolutely true, if you don't spend time sketching, you will never understand what it's is about.

Here's my advice to get started.
Go though these topics here, which are the drawing workshops, challenges to get better at drawing. Pick an image you like and try and copy it, just as other members have already done. Use a pencil.
For instance, you can try copying one of these Naruto artworks. It doesn't even have to be in colour, just the outlines. It can be sketchy or smudged, it doesnt matter as long as you try and copy it.
Post your drawing in the thread, no matter how bad you think it looks, and then we can give you advice. Otherwise we could talk about theory forever.
Do it now!

i dont even know what theory are we talking about.

but here's a question that have been evading me for sometime because getting it precise is hard

given view 0 = front view,
how do you make the image be animatically and proportionally precise in view 1 , 2 ,3,4,5,6- 00?
in size, positioning and inbetweening?

like this naruto part...

maybe also try on this stuff because it's edgier than naruto
