Well, here's a quick spoiler of the comic I'm working on:
And, yeah all of this manga is done in watercolor. Just like my other drawings. I chose watercolor because it's easy to use, and color can really add depth to feeling. It's the story that's important, but it's also how the images make you feel. And color changes everything you feel about an image. For example, if you have a really serious plotline, but you use pastel colors (like pink), the reader views that as not being serious. You're just trying to be ironic.
I also realized that over the past months making this comic, that I have no interest in making it for children. I am a big fan of Taiyo Matsumoto and Yoshihiro Tatsumi, and I want to do manga in the
gekiga style (Japanese for "dramatic pictures). In other words, my audience will be adults.
